Complete Fitness Program

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Complete Fitness.

  • Who: Open to all adults 18+ years of age.
  • What: Six week fitness program. Complete Fitness will develop and reinforce healthy lifestyles and behaviors. The Complete Fitness classes will allow participants to engage in a variety of physical fitness activities that will help to establish lifelong fitness goals.
  • Where: Linden Multi Purpose Center, which is located at 1025 John Street.
  • When: The Complete Fitness program begins on Thursday, April 11, 2024. The program will be held weekly on Thursdays for six weeks from 6pm until 7pm.
  • How: Program fee is $50, plus a $6 annual insurance fee. First time registrants must set up and account and pay an annual $6 registration fee. Register online here, or register in person at the John T. Gregorio Center (330 Helen Street) from 9am until 4pm, or at the Linden Multi Purpose Center (1025 John Street) from 9am until 7pm. Food & Clothing Drive

Greater Mount Moriah Baptist Church is hosting a Food and Clothing Drive on the fourth Saturday of every month.

  • What: Winter Food & Clothing Drive.
  • When: Fourth Saturday of every month from 10am until 12pm. Come join this Saturday, March 23, 2024.
    • The Food and Clothing drive will be held on the third Saturday of the month in November.
  • Where: Greater Mount Moriah Baptist Church, which is located at 24 East 14th Street.

Officers will be on hand to answer any questions a potential applicant might have about eligibility, background investigations, physical requirements, and training. For anyone interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement, our goal is to make sure you know exactly what to expect throughout the process.
  • When: Thursday, March 21 at 6:30pm.

COVID-19-RSV Vaccination Clinic

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, the Linden Board of Health and the Linden Public Library, in partnership with Super Health Pharmacy are providing a Covid-19-RSV Vaccination Clinic.

  • Who and What:
    • Covid-19 vaccinations for ages 5 and up.
    • RSV vaccinations for ages 60 and up.
  • When: Monday, March 11, 6:30pm until 8:15pm.
  • Where: Linden Public Library, which is located at 31 East Henry Street.
  • How: No appointment necessary. Walk-ins welcome. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Linden Health Department at 908-474-8409.

Public Notice for the Request for Qualifications for Public Information Officer

Public Notice for the Request for Qualifications of Professional Service Contracts beginning April 1, 2024. Notice is hereby given that in accordance with N.J.S.A. 19:44-20.5 et seq. through a fair and open process, the City of
Linden is requesting sealed submissions for Professional Service Contracts. Sealed submissions will be received by the Purchasing Agent, Jessica L. Slawinski, of the City of Linden, on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 10:00 A.M.
prevailing time, in the 1st Floor Purchasing Department, City Hall, City of Linden, 301 North Wood Avenue, Linden, NJ 07036 then publicly opened and read aloud for the following:

  1. Public Information Officer

Proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS, for (Position Number as Listed Above, Name of Position) and bearing the name and address of the proposer on outside; addressed to the Purchasing Agent, Jessica L. Slawinski, City of Linden, City Hall, Purchasing Depaitment, 301 North Wood Avenue, 1st Floor, Linden, NJ 07036.

Standardized submission requirements and selection criteria are on file and available in the Purchasing Department, City Hall, 301 North Wood Avenue, Linden, NJ 07036.

In addition to full compliance with N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.4 et. seq. (“Pay To Play”), individuals or firms awardedcontracts under these procedures will be required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 52:32-44 (Business Registration of Public Contractors), 42 U.S.C. Section 12101 et. seq. (Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990), N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. And N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq. (Contract Compliance and Equal Employment Opportunities in Public Contracts)

Any RFQ Addenda will be issued on the website and processed in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40All-23(c)(l). All interested respondents should check the website from now through RFQ opening. It is the sole responsibility of the respondent to be knowledgeable of all addenda related to this procurement.

Submission by Corporations and Partnerships shall include a completed Disclosure of Ownership fonn (N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2) and shall include a completed Non-Collusion Affidavit.

The City of Linden reserves the right to reject any or all submissions due to any defects of waive informalities and accept any submissions that in their judgment will be in the best interest of the City of Linden. The City of Linden shall award the contract or reject all submissions no later than 60 days from receipt of the same.
