Linden Police Athletic League (P.A.L.) Baseball Registration

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are please to announce that registration is open for the 2023 Linden Police Athletic League (P.A.L.) Baseball. Registration deadline is April 12, 2023.

  • Who: Youth program. Team leagues are grouped by age range.
    • Ages 4 through 6 (Tee Ball)
    • Ages 7 through 9 (Pee Wee)
    • Ages 10 through 13 (Little League)
  • What: Linden P.A.L. Spring Baseball. Your child will learn and develop fundamental skills to play baseball, and will interact and compete against children within their age range.

Technology and Nature

New Jersey Audubon is hosting public programs for all ages at Hawk Rise Sanctuary. Bridge the gap between nature and technology.

  • Who: Appropriate for all ages.
  • What: New Jersey Audubon public program. Bridge the gap between nature and technology. Discuss the pros and cons of nature identification apps and use them as we walk the trails of Hawk Rise. Come dressed for the weather. Iced tea and lemonade will be served afterwards. This program will be led by Angus Macaulay, Teacher Naturalist.
  • Where: Hawk Rise Sanctuary, which is located on Range Road.
  • When: Sunday, May 7, from 1pm until 2pm.
  • How: Free program. To register, click here. Come dressed for the weather. The primary app for this program will be iNaturalist. You may consider installing this app in advance.

Spring Into Nature

New Jersey Audubon is hosting public programs for all ages at Hawk Rise Sanctuary. Spring is in the air. Come out to Hawk Rise to experience the sights, sounds, and smells of spring.

  • Who: Appropriate for all ages.
  • What: New Jersey Audubon public program. Plants and animals will be found and discussed throughout our walk through the sanctuary. Come dressed for the weather. Iced tea or hot tea will be served afterwards, depending on the weather. This program will be led by Angus Macaulay, Teacher Naturalist.
  • Where: Hawk Rise Sanctuary, which is located on Range Road.
  • When: Saturday, April 1, from 1pm until 2pm.

Senior Citizen Line Dancing

  • Who: For Linden senior residents.
  • What: Senior line dancing classes. Line dancing for seniors is a fun, healthy and rewarding activity and exercise. Dancing styles incorporated into the class include salsa, ballroom and country western.
  • When: Thursdays, April 13 through June 15, 2023, from 10:30am until 11:30am.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.

Kids Canvas Paint Class

Due to the popularity of this class, we are offering two dates per month to register your child for the class. Please choose one or the other. There are 15 slots per class and the classes fill quickly. Don’t be left out, register today!

  • Who: For kids ages 5 through 12.
  • What: Kids canvas paint classes. All supplies included. The painting classes are guided with the instructor showing every step. Small color copies of the painting will be handed out to the children for reference. Background music will be available to create a more creative and tranquil atmosphere for the young artists.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.

Spring Tennis Camp

  • Who: Ages 6 through 15.
  • What: Spring tennis camp with drills, games, contests, prizes and an optional tournament! Refreshments and loaner racquets provided.
  • Where: Wilson Park Tennis Courts, which is located at 1113 Summit Terrace.
  • When: Monday through Friday, April 10 – 14, from 9am until 12pm.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt 2023!

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks and Recreation are pleased to present the 2023 Annual Easter Egg Hunt!

  • Who: For children ages 12 and under.
  • When: Saturday, April 1 from 12pm until 2pm.
    • Rain date: Saturday, April 8, from 12pm until 2pm.
  • Where: Wilson Park, which is located behind the High School Academy Building.
  • How: Please bring your own Easter basket, or a bag can be provided.
