2026 City of Linden Summer Entertainment Series

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, Linden City Council, the Department of Parks & Recreation, the Department of Transportation and Properties, and Uptown Linden Inc.*, invite you to attend the 2026 Summer Entertainment Series!

  • What: Come and enjoy the Summer Entertainment Series, events include live music of different genres, Legends of Linden, and comedy!
  • When: The 2026 Summer Entertainment Series will be held on varying nights from May 21 through September 1, 2026.
    • For all Concerts, doors open at 6pm.
    • Concerts begin at 7pm.
    • All Comedy Under the Stars events begin at 6:30pm.
    • All House Music events begin at 4:30pm.
  • Where: Raymond Wood Bauer Promenade, which is located at 400 North Wood Avenue.
  • How: Free event. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional seating available for lawn chairs as space permits. In the event of possible rain, call 908-474-8604 after 3pm to verify if the concert will go on as scheduled. If canceled, concerts will be rescheduled for another date if possible. For more information, contact the Department of Parks and Recreation at 908-474-8600.

After Work Wednesdays at City Hall

  • What: After Work Wednesdays at City Hall. Outdoor live music by Beat Master productions.
  • When: Wednesday, June 17, 2026 from 6pm until 8:30pm.
  • Where: Linden City Hall, which is located at 301 North Wood Avenue.

Senior Citizen Water Aerobics

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Senior Citizen Water Aerobics.

  • Who: For Linden Senior Residents.
  • What: Seniors will enjoy the benefit of low-impact water aerobics led by a certified instructor. Swimwear is required, and swim caps are recommended.
  • Where: Rahway YMCA, which is located at 1564 Irving Street, Rahway, NJ 07065. Transportation will be provided, drop off and pick up will be from the John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street. The bus will be leaving promptly at 8:30am.
  • When: Tuesdays, May 19, 2026 through July 7, 2026 from 9am until 10am.
  • How: Fee $10 (+ $6 insurance fee). To register please call 908-474-8600.

Senior Arts and Wellness Day Festival

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, the Department of Parks & Recreation, and the Union County Board of County Commissioners are pleased to offer Senior Arts and Wellness Day Festival. Join us for a nationally celebrated day for our seniors. Linden presents an Arts & Entertainment Senior Health and Wellness Day.

  • Who: For Linden Senior Residents.
  • What: Senior Arts and wellness Day Festival. Free event with live entertainment, arts & crafts, exercise games, walking activities, and refreshments. Join us for a nationally celebrated day for our seniors. Linden presents an Arts & Entertainment Senior Health and Wellness Day.
  • Where: Peach Orchard Park, which is located at 1400 Dill Avenue.
  • When: Wednesday, May 27, 2026 from 10:30am until 2:30pm.
    • Rain Date: Wednesday, June 3, 2026 from 10:30am until 2:30pm.
  • How: Free program for all Linden Senior Residents. Residents can register at the front desk of JTG or LMPC or the main office of your resident building. Registration deadline is May 20, 2026. For more information, call 908-474-8639. In person registration is available 9am – 4pm at the JTG Center (330 Helen Street) or the Linden Multi-Purpose Center (1025 John Street).

Annual Color Run

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, the Department of Parks & Recreation, and Mayor’s Youth Commission Scholarship Committee invite you to participate in Linden’s 4th Annual Color Run. Walk or run with us to raise funds for the Linden High School Graduating Class of 2026 Scholarships. All proceeds from this event will go toward scholarships granted to graduates of the LHS Class of 2026!

  • What: City of Linden’s 4th Annual Color Run! The event features a 2-mile course (8 times around the track) in which participants are doused with color along the track, with a grand-finale held in the middle of the football field! Participants receive an individual color packet. First, Second and Third place medals for both Youth and Adult Categories.
  • When: Saturday, May 16, 2026. On-site registration begins at 8:30am. The Color Run begins at 10am.
  • Where: Tiger Stadium, which is located between at 700 West Curtis Street.
  • How: Click here * to register. Youth registration is $20. Adult registration is $30.

Celebrating Haitian Heritage Month

  • What: Celebrating Haitian Heritage Month. We would like to cordially invite you to experience a taste of Haiti. The flag raising will begin with music and cultural acts dedicated to the Haitian flag. Throughout the afternoon, attendees can enjoy art, food, live music, traditional dance, and interactive activities that highlight Haitians’ ongoing pride, perseverance, and contributions. The event also provides an opportunity to learn about Haiti’s vital role in worldwide Black liberation movements. The Haitian Flag Raising is more than just a celebration; it’s a proud reminder of our people’s tenacity, culture, and unity. We invite everyone to join us in celebrating Haiti’s heritage and lively spirit that continues to inspire generations.

    • Flag Raising and Celebration Day – Rescheduled to Sunday, May 17, 2026 at 4:30pm at the Raymond Wood Bauer Promenade, which is located at 400 North Wood Avenue.
    • Senior Luncheon – Monday, May 18, from 11:30am until 1:20pm at the John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
    • Senior Breakfast – Saturday, May 23, from 11am until 1pm at the Linden Multi-Purpose Center, which is located at 1025 John Street.

From April 26 through May 3, 2026, join the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation in honoring America’s fallen fire heroes by lighting up red. Landmarks, fire departments, businesses, organizations, and families are invited to take part in this nationwide tribute leading up to National Fall Firefighters Memorial Weekend. Light up-and share why. Tell the story behind your light and help us shine red in all 50 states to show we honor and remember the fallen.
