Annual Color Run

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, the Department of Parks & Recreation, and Mayor’s Youth Commission Scholarship Committee invite you to participate in Linden’s 4th Annual Color Run. Walk or run with us to raise funds for the Linden High School Graduating Class of 2026 Scholarships. All proceeds from this event will go toward scholarships granted to graduates of the LHS Class of 2026!

  • What: City of Linden’s 4th Annual Color Run! The event features a 2-mile course (8 times around the track) in which participants are doused with color along the track, with a grand-finale held in the middle of the football field! Participants receive an individual color packet. First, Second and Third place medals for both Youth and Adult Categories.
  • When: Saturday, May 16, 2026. On-site registration begins at 8:30am. The Color Run begins at 10am.
  • Where: Tiger Stadium, which is located between at 700 West Curtis Street.

Celebrating Haitian Heritage Month

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, the Department of Parks & Recreation, Linden Public Schools, and the New Jersey-Haiti Partners of the Americas would like to cordially invite you to experience a taste of Haiti. Music, culture, dancers, food vendors, raffles, and more!

  • What: Celebrating Haitian Heritage Month. We would like to cordially invite you to experience a taste of Haiti. The flag raising will begin with music and cultural acts dedicated to the Haitian flag. Throughout the afternoon, attendees can enjoy art, food, live music, traditional dance, and interactive activities that highlight Haitians’ ongoing pride, perseverance, and contributions. The event also provides an opportunity to learn about Haiti’s vital role in worldwide Black liberation movements. The Haitian Flag Raising is more than just a celebration; it’s a proud reminder of our people’s tenacity, culture, and unity. We invite everyone to join us in celebrating Haiti’s heritage and lively spirit that continues to inspire generations.
  • When & Where: The City of Linden will be hosting celebrations throughout the month.
    • Banners and Flag Poles Decorations – Friday, May 1 at North Wood Avenue.
    • Flag Raising and Celebration Day – Saturday, May 9, from 3pm until 7pm at the Raymond Wood Bauer Promenade, which is located at 400 North Wood Avenue.
    • Senior Luncheon – Monday, May 18, from 11:30am until 1:20pm at the John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
    • Senior Breakfast – Saturday, May 23, from 11am until 1pm at the Linden Multi-Purpose Center, which is located at 1025 John Street.

From April 26 through May 3, 2026, join the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation in honoring America’s fallen fire heroes by lighting up red. Landmarks, fire departments, businesses, organizations, and families are invited to take part in this nationwide tribute leading up to National Fall Firefighters Memorial Weekend. Light up-and share why. Tell the story behind your light and help us shine red in all 50 states to show we honor and remember the fallen.

LMPC Seatercise

  • What: Seated Fitness.
    • Seatercise Chair Aerobics (30 minutes). Burn calories, build strength and increase your heart rate in Build a Body’s chair aerobics class executing functional exercises. If you can sit, this is the workout for you!
    • Seatercise Chair Aerobics and Yoga (60 minutes). Improve your flexibility, circulation, and concentration. Reduce stress and joint strain, all while boosting your mood in the chair. If you can sit, this workout is for you!
