Public Notice for the Request for Qualifications of Professional Service Contracts Beginning January, 2024.

Notice is hereby given that sealed submissions will be received by the Purchasing Agent, Jessica L. Slawinski, of the City of Linden, on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 10am, prevailing time, in the 1st Floor Purchasing Department, City Hall, City of Linden, 301 North Wood Avenue, Linden, NJ 07036 then publicly opened and read aloud for the following:

  1. AVIATION ENGINEERING SERVICES
  2. MUNICIPAL MARKETING SERVICES
  3. COMMUNICATIONS CONSULTANT SERVICES

Proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS, for (Position Number as Listed Above, Name of Position) and bearing the name and address of the proposer on outside; addressed to the Purchasing Agent, Jessica L. Slawinski, City of Linden, City Hall, Purchasing Department, 301 North Wood Avenue, 1st Floor, Linden, NJ 07036.

Standardized submission requirements and selection criteria are on file and available in the Purchasing Department, City Hall, 301 N. Wood Avenue, Linden, NJ 07036. Submission packages may also be downloaded on the The City of Linden’s website on this page.

In addition to full compliance with N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.4 et. seq. (“Pay to Play”), individuals or firms awarded contracts under these procedures will be required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 52:32-44 (Business Registration of Public Contractors), 42 U.S.C. Section 12101 et. seq. (Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990), N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. And N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq. (Contract Compliance and Equal Employment Opportunities in Public Contracts).

Submission by Corporations and Partnerships shall include a completed Disclosure of Ownership form (N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2) and shall include a completed Non-Collusion Affidavit. The City of Linden reserves the right to reject any or all submissions due to any defects of waive informalities and accept any submissions that in their judgment will be in the best interest of the City of Linden. The City of Linden shall award the contract or reject all submissions no later than 60 days from receipt of the same.

Senior Zumba Gold

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Senior Zumba Gold.

  • Who: For Linden senior residents. Participants should consult with a physician prior to participation.
  • What: Perfect for active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba class that recreates the original moves you love at a lower intensity, with easy-to-follow Zumba choreography. The main focus is on balance, range of motion and coordination.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • When: Fridays, January 12 through March 22, 2024 from 9:30am until 10:30am.
    • No class on February 16, 2024.

One winner was selected from each ward! Congratulations to the winners! Winning homes will be on the City of Linden website, and pictures will be shared on Linden’s Facebook and Nextdoor pages. Gift cards will be delivered to the winning homes. Homes that have won in the past two years were not eligible.

  • Who: Men’s League for ages 18 and older.
  • What: The Men’s Basketball League is designed to instill physical activity, community engagement and healthy competition among men of all ages and skill levels.
  • Where: Linden Multi-Purpose Center, which is located at 1025 John Street.
  • When: Start date is January 23, 2024. The League will run for eight (8) weeks on Tuesday nights, with two (2) weeks of playoffs.

Youth Arts & Crafts

  • What: Have your child enjoy a free art-filled program! Each session will be focused on unique and enjoyable crafts. Let their creativity blossom.
  • Where: Linden Multi-Purpose Center, which is located at 1025 John Street.
  • When: January through March on the second and fourth Thursday of the month, from 3:30pm until 5pm.
    • January 11 and 25.
    • February 8 and 22.
    • March 14 and 28.

Kids’ Fitness and Tumbling

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Kids’ Fitness and Tumbling, hosted by Travelin’ Tumblers.

  • Who: 18 months through 3 years old.
  • What: Kids’ Fitness and Tumbling uses lively music and varying themes to boost the fitness level and self-esteem of children through diverse and enriching physical activities. The program is hosted by Travelin’ Tumblers and helps to improve the confidence, motor skills, fitness level and communication skills of participants.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • When: January 18 through February 15, from 9:15am until 10am.

Intro Boot Camp Exercise Class

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Intro Boot Camp Exercise Class, hosted by Broadway Strong Fitness.

  • What: Come join the Broadway Strong Bootcamp and start your year with four (4) great workouts. Class instructor is Wali Broadway. Please bring your own mat.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • When: Wednesdays in January (beginning January 10), from 7:15pm until 8pm.
