Emergency Food Distribution Event on Tuesday, May 11th

The Union County Board of County Commissioners, the Village Super Market of Springfield Township, and Gargiulo Produce are providing a walk-up food distribution event to all Union County residents affected by COVID-19 on Tuesday, May 11th at 10am. Event Details

  • First 500 people will receive shelf-safe food and fresh produce on a first come, first served basis.
  • One food distribution per household, while supplies last.
  • Bring a cart for the walk-up.
  • Refrigerate any perishable items shortly after distribution.
  • Bring one (1) proof of NJ residency, such as a utility bill, driver’s license, ID card, etc.
  • Event will take place rain or shine.

Notice RE Board Of Alcoholic Beverage Control Meeting

The City of Linden ABC Meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 4pm. The meeting will be conducted teleconference. Attendance will be via GoToMeeting due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Official action will be taken and portions of the meeting may be held in executive session.

New Job Opportunity Available at the Linden Roselle Sewerage Authority

Purchasing / Contract Manager – Full Time

Responsibilities include administrating the Authority’s purchasing system in conformance with the public purchasing law, reviewing bid specifications, review the performance of vendors and contractors and assist the Financial Manger and Office Manager as needed. Qualifications: experience in purchasing regulations under the N.J. Public Contracts Law, excellent writing skills and experienced computer skills (Microsoft Office). Qualified Purchasing Agent State Certification is required. Monday–Friday 8:30AM-4:00PM, benefits, salary based on experience and qualifications. EOE. The City has a growing population, is located 13 miles from Manhattan, and is home to the general Aviation airport and a thriving NJ Transit station.  Population is 40,499 and the municipal budget is $100 million, supporting a full range of municipal departments and services.  This is an exciting opportunity to work with committed elected officials to help shape the future of the local government and community.

Financial, communications, and interpersonal skills are key for this position. Salary and contact are negotiable.   • Please make sure to clear out the vehicle’s trunk prior to arrival to make room for food bags.
  • Bring one (1) proof of NJ residency, such as a utility bill, driver’s license, ID card, etc.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that in accordance with the Open Public Meeting Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et. seq., and the Governor of New Jersey’s Executive Orders 102 and 104 regarding COVID-19 the Planning Board of the City of Linden will conduct its regular meeting at 6:30 PM. The meeting will be conducted VIRTUALLY due to the current health problems limiting personal contact and public gatherings through electronic communication equipment to facilitate public comments or questions.
