2025 Summer Mini Soccer League

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to announce the 2025 Summer Mini Soccer League. Register early to secure a spot on a team!

  • Who: Open to all children ages 9 through 12.
  • What: Outdoor soccer. All participants must have their own shin guards.
  • Where: Wheeler Park Turf Field, which is located at 234 West Stimpson Avenue. The League will be held on the Soccer Field, entrance on West Stimpson Avenue.
  • When: The League begins on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 and will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6pm. Program runs through August 7, 2025.
  • How: Registration deadline is July 1, 2025. After deadline, all registrants must register by calling 908-474-8600, and a waiting list will be established. Registration fee is $50 for residents. A one-time annual $6 insurance fee will be added to your total registration fee, per child, if this has not already been paid for with another program. All participants must have their own shin guards. Register online here, or register in person at the John T. Gregorio Center (330 Helen Street) from 9am until 4pm, or at the Linden Multi Purpose Center (1025 John Street) from 9:30am until 7pm. All locations accept checks, money orders, Visa and Mastercard.     • Child’s original birth certificate.
    • Household bill showing proof of residency.
    • Diver’s License or photo ID of parent/guardian signing up their child.

Unity Day – A Juneteenth Celebration

  • What: Unity Day – A Juneteenth Celebration. 10th Annual House Music Dance Fest featuring live performances from Timmy Regisford, Spinna, DJ Crue Paris, Warren Soulfingers, B-Crew (Barbara Tucker, Dawn Tallman, and Charlotte Small), and Kenny Bobien.
  • When: This event will take place on the rain date, Sunday, June 29 starting at 3pm.
  • Where: In front of Linden City Hall, which is located at 301 North Wood Avenue.

2025 Summer Tennis Lessons

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, the Department of Parks & Recreation, and USTA Certified Pro tennis instructor Tony Labonte are pleased to present Summer Tennis Lessons. Youth and Adult sessions will be offered.

  • Who: Ages 4 and up. Youth and adult classes designated by age range.

Kids Canvas Paint Class

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Kids Canvas Paint Class.

  • Who: For kids ages 5 through 12.
  • What: Kids canvas paint classes. All supplies included. The painting classes are guided with the instructor showing every step. Small color copies of the painting will be handed out to the children for reference. Background music will be available to create a more creative and tranquil atmosphere for the young artists.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • When: July 15, 2025 and August 12, 2025 from 6pm until 7:30pm.

2025 Linden Tigers Summer Softball Camp

  • Who: For girls ages 5 through 14.
  • What: Softball Camp for girls, with instructor Peter Naumowicz (LHS Varsity Softball Coach), Michele Diaz (LHS Assistant Varsity Coach), Eric Scheidemann (LSH J.V. Girls Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach) and LHS players as assistant staff.
  • Where: P.A.L. Fields, which is located at 75 Lower Road.
  • When: 9am until 12pm, from July 21 through July 25.

2025 John T. Gregorio Basketball Camp

  • Who: For 3rd through 8th grade, Linden residents only.
  • What: Basketball Camp. Campers with learn basketball fundamentals, ball handling skills, footwork techniques, rebounding, shooting skills, dribbling skills, and offensive and defensive strategies.
  • Where: Linden High School Gymnasium, which is located at 121 West St. Georges Avenue.
  • When: June 30 through July 3, from 9am until 2pm (bring lunch).

  • What: A Juneteenth Cookout. Free event! Come one, come all to a day of culture, freedom, and independence. Let’s celebrate and enjoy, with BBQ eats! Activities, games, prizes, game truck, ice cream, and more!
  • Where: Linden Multi-Purpose Center, which is located at 1025 John Street.
  • When: Friday, June 27, from 3pm until 7pm.
