Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Union County Board of County Commissioners, Uptown Linden, and the Linden Society for Historic Preservation presents Linden’s Incorporation Celebration!

  • What: Linden’s Incorporation Celebration -100 year anniversary, 1925-2025! Join us for a fun and informative Centennial Celebration of Linden’s Incorporation. Enjoy learning about your city’s history, with music, a trivia contest, games, shows, and much more!
  • When: Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 1pm until 5pm.
    • Linden History Trivia Game with prizes starting at 1pm.
    • Free Carnival Games for children and teens with prizes 1pm until 5pm.
    • Free Magic Show from 4pm until 5pm.
    • DJ music with MC Mike Ruga all day in the Promenade.

Haitian Heritage Month Celebration

  • What: Haitian Heritage Month Celebration. We would like to cordially invite you to experience a taste of Haiti. Music, culture, dancers, food vendors, raffles, and more!
  • When & Where: The city of linden will be hosting celebrations throughout the month:
    • Haitian Heroes Banners and flag poles decoration. Thursday, May 1 at North Wood Avenue.
    • Senior Luncheon. Monday, May 12, from 11:30am until 1pm at the John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
    • Flag raising and Celebration day. Sunday, May 18, from 4pm until 8pm at the Raymond Wood Bauer Promenade, which is located at 400 North Wood Avenue.
    • Senior Breakfast (Kozé Lakay). Saturday, May 31, from 9:30am until 11:30am at the Linden Multi-Purpose Center, which is located at 1025 John Street.

Smartphone Training Workshop

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer a Smartphone Training Workshop. This program is made possible in part by a 2025 HEART (History, Education, Arts Reaching Thousands) Grant from the Union County Board of Commissioners.

  • Who: Linden Senior Residents.
  • What: Smartphone Training Workshop hosted by Valerie Porter. Attendees will learn how to become more independent with their smartphones.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • When: June 2, 2025 and June 5, 2025 from 2pm until 3:30pm.
    • The June 2 session will focus on how to create a social security account online to access earning data and other important information.
    • The June 5 session will focus on spam and fraud prevention.

Mother’s Day Celebration 2025

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation present the 2025 Mother’s Day Celebration. In collaboration with Morning Star Community Christian Center.

  • What: 2025 Mother’s Day Celebration; spa care, massages, wigs & hair, nails, lashes & tints, Mary Kay Consultants, head wrapping, book signings. Make you own bracelet! music, exercising, line dancing, consulting dietician, refreshments, swag bags, and prizes.
  • When: Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 12pm until 3pm.
  • Where: Linden Multi Purpose Center, which is located at 1025 John Street.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt 2025!

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks and Recreation invite you to attend the 2025 Annual Easter Egg Hunt! Look for the Easter Bunny, he’ll be hopping around, visiting all sections of Linden starting at 1pm!

  • Who: For children ages 12 and under.
  • What: Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Look for the Easter Bunny, he’ll be hopping around, visiting all sections of Linden starting at 1pm! Look for the Golden Ticket to win a prize! (Three Golden Tickets per hunt!)
  • When: Saturday, April 12, 2025. Check-in to receive bags is 9:30am. *Rain date is Sunday April 13. Featuring four Egg Hunts for different age groups:
    • First Hunt: 10am for ages 3 and under.
    • Second Hunt: 10:15am for ages 4 to 6.
    • Third Hunt: 10:30am for ages 7 to 9.
    • Fourth Hunt: 10:45am for ages 10 to 12.
  • Where: Linden Multi-Purpose Center, which is located at 1025 John Street.

LTC Youth Basketball Organization

Congratulations to the Linden Tiger Cubs or LTC youth basketball organization had a spectacular winter season. The 7th grade elite boys team, coached by Whitney Denville, won the Clark Winter tournament. LTC also won three Championships competing in the Central Jersey North Brunswick basketball league. Their 5th grade girls, coached by Jaedyn Boyd, won their grade and age level. Many of these girls won the 5th grade level as 4th graders  last season. LTC also had the 6th and 7th grade boys, coached by Greg Parker Sr., win their age and grade level as well. We are Linden! Blossoming Bowlers 4

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Blossoming Bowlers 4, in cooperation with the Linden Police Department. Let’s “strike up some fun,” and celebrate family bowling at Jersey Lanes! Registration required.

  • Who: Free bowling outing for all Union County special needs families.
  • What: Blossoming Bowlers 4, Let’s “strike up some fun,” and celebrate family bowling at Jersey Lanes! This program is funded by the NJ Department of Community Affairs ROID Grant (Recreational Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities). Each participant can bring family members for music, food, and fun. Students that are sensitive to noise, please bring headsets as there will be a DJ present.
