Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, the Department of Parks & Recreation, Linden Public Schools, and the New Jersey-Haiti Partners of the Americas would like to cordially invite you to experience a taste of Haiti. Music, culture, dancers, food vendors, raffles, and more!

  • What: Celebrating Haitian Heritage Month. We would like to cordially invite you to experience a taste of Haiti. The flag raising will begin with music and cultural acts dedicated to the Haitian flag. Throughout the afternoon, attendees can enjoy art, food, live music, traditional dance, and interactive activities that highlight Haitians’ ongoing pride, perseverance, and contributions. The event also provides an opportunity to learn about Haiti’s vital role in worldwide Black liberation movements. The Haitian Flag Raising is more than just a celebration; it’s a proud reminder of our people’s tenacity, culture, and unity. We invite everyone to join us in celebrating Haiti’s heritage and lively spirit that continues to inspire generations.
  • When & Where: The City of Linden will be hosting celebrations throughout the month.
    • Banners and Flag Poles Decorations – Friday, May 1 at North Wood Avenue.
    • Flag Raising and Celebration Day – Saturday, May 9, from 3pm until 7pm at the Raymond Wood Bauer Promenade, which is located at 400 North Wood Avenue.
    • Senior Luncheon – Monday, May 18, from 11:30am until 1:20pm at the John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
    • Senior Breakfast – Saturday, May 23, from 11am until 1pm at the Linden Multi-Purpose Center, which is located at 1025 John Street.
