2025 Fall Soccer League

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to announce the 2025 Fall Soccer League. Register early to secure a spot on a team!

  • Who: Open to all children ages 6 through 12.
  • What: Outdoor soccer. All participants must have their own shin guards.
  • Where: Wheeler Park Turf Field, which is located at 234 West Stimpson Avenue. The League will be held on the Soccer Field, entrance on West Stimpson Avenue.
  • When: The League begins on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
  • How: Registration deadline is September 19, 2025. After deadline, all registrants must register by calling 908-474-8600 or 908-474-8627, and a waiting list will be established. Registration fee is $50 for residents, and $60 for non-residents. A one-time annual $6 insurance fee will be added to your total registration fee, per child, if this has not already been paid for with another program. All participants must have their own shin guards. Register online here, or register in person at the John T. Gregorio Center (330 Helen Street) from 9am until 4pm, or at the Linden Multi Purpose Center (1025 John Street) from 9:30am until 7pm. All locations accept checks, money orders, Visa and Mastercard. Please note: all new “First Time” participants are required to call during business hours to have an account set up and must bring the following original documents at the time of registration and we will make copies:
    • Child’s original birth certificate.
    • Household bill showing proof of residency.
    • Diver’s License or photo ID of parent/guardian signing up their child.

Comedy Under the Stars

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, the Department of Parks & Recreation, and Uptown Linden Inc., invite you to attend Comedy Under the Stars!

  • What: Comedy under the Stars produced by Bob and Reggie Summer, “Back by popular demand” hosted by Freddie Ricks with comedians Rashaun Reese, Sophia Negron, and Rey Pinder. The evening’s soundtrack is provided by Linden’s very own DJ Mozart.
  • When: Friday September 12, 2025, gates open 6:30pm and showtime starts at 7pm.
  • Where: Raymond Wood Bauer Promenade, which is located at 400 North Wood Avenue.
  • How: Free admission.

2025 Fall Tennis Lessons

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, the Department of Parks & Recreation, and USTA Certified Pro tennis instructor Tony Labonte are pleased to present Fall Tennis Lessons. Youth and Adult sessions will be offered.

Kids Canvas Paint Class

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Kids Canvas Paint Class.

  • Who: For kids ages 5 through 12.
  • What: Kids canvas paint classes. All supplies included. The painting classes are guided with the instructor showing every step. Small color copies of the painting will be handed out to the children for reference. Background music will be available to create a more creative and tranquil atmosphere for the young artists.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.

Fit 4 Life

  • Who: Linden Senior Residents.
  • What: Fit 4 Life; a free program to promote a healthy lifestyle within our senior citizen community. This program includes a focus on warm-ups, balance, strength training and stretching exercises.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • When: Mondays, from 9am to 10am starting September 8, 2025 through November 24, 2025.
    • No class: October 13, 2025.

Adult Pilates

  • What: Adult Pilates. Provides stability, mobility, and flexibility through concentrated movements. Improves postural alignment and helps correct muscular imbalances.

Beginners Woodshop Program

  • Who: Children must be between the ages of 6 through 10 to participate.
  • What: Beginners Woodshop Program, 4-week program. The instructor will guide all students in executing their make-and-take-home project. Please be aware that this program is first-come, first serve.

  • When: Mondays, November 3 through November 24, from 6pm until 8pm.

Knitting for a Cause

  • Who: Linden senior citizens.
  • What: Knitting and crocheting classes. A basic knowledge of knitting or crocheting is required. The club will teach you the rest! Majority of items that are created are distributed to local hospitals and nursing homes.

Senior Zumba Gold

  • Who: For Linden Senior Residents. Participants should consult with a physician prior to participation.
  • What: Perfect for active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba class. This program recreates the original moves you love at a lower-intensity, easy-to-follow pace. The main focus is on balance, range of motion, and coordination.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • When: Fridays, September 12 through December 19 from 9:30am until 10:30am.
    • No Class: October 24 and November 28.
