Fall Festival – The Many Flavors of Linden

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation invite you to Linden’s Fall Festival. Join us on Saturday, September 26, 2026, along North Wood Avenue for The Many Flavors of Linden Fall Festival. A grand, single-day multicultural celebration that’s 100% FREE for everyone! We’ve combined Unity Day, the Polish Festival, and the Latin Festival into one epic multicultural extravaganza! Mark your calendars and make sure to join us!   • What: Fall Festival. Mayor Derek Armstead and the City of Linden are bringing three of our community’s favorite events: Unity Day, the Polish Festival, and the Latin Festival together into one giant celebration! We are coming together to honor and highlight the vibrant cultures that make Linden such a special place to live.
    • Bring the whole family out to experience the excitement.
    • See the Taylor Swift Tribute Show “Fearless, the Taylor Swift Experience.” Attendees with receive a Swifty gift bag while supplies last.
    • Delicious food trucks featuring authentic tastes from around the globe.
    • Car and Bike Show with incredible custom builds and classic rides.
    • Live wrestling matches packed with high-flying action.
    • Live music and cultural performances representing traditions from across our city.

    • 2pm at the Raymond Wood Bauer Promenade Stage – Special performance by Fearless – The Taylor Swift Experience.

Breast Cancer Awareness

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer a Breast Cancer Awareness presentation.

  • What: Breast Cancer Awareness. Hosted by Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway. Join us for an informative one hour presentation with Fiordaliza Gomez Ortiz, Clinical Nurse Navigator. She will cover breast cancer in both women and men. Learn about risk factors (for you and your family), signs and symptoms, self breast awareness, screening recommendations, how breast cancer is diagnosed and treated, and practical steps you can take to reduce your risk. Knowledge is power, early detection saves lives! Whether you’re looking to learn for yourself or a loved one, this presentation offers valuable information for everyone. “Questions are encouraged, come ready to learn and participate!”

Disney on Ice

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation presents Disney on Ice. Join us for a show filled with sparkle, excitement, and magic!

  • What: Disney on Ice. Disney on Ice is a thrilling ice skating spectacular suitable for families and Disney lovers of all ages. Come along and create memories for your family!
  • Where: Prudential Center, which is located at 25 Lafayette Street, Newark, NJ 07102.
  • When: Sunday, November 1, 2026, showtime 2:30pm.

Fire Prevention Night

Linden Fire Prevention Night is the Linden Fire Department’s annual community fire safety event dedicated to educating residents of all ages about preventing fires and staying safe at home. Through interactive demonstrations, hands on activites, educational exhibits, and family friendly entertainment, attendees learn practical fire safety skills that can help save lives.

Notice of Intent to Award Contract Under a National Cooperative Agreement


Notice of Intent to Award Contract under a National Cooperative Purchasing Agreement Contract for Document Solutions, LLC., 151 Sumner Avenue, Kenilworth, NJ 07033.

The City of Linden, in the County of Union and State of New Jersey, intends to participate in Sourcewell for the acquisition of Konica Minolta Multifunction devices, copiers, printers, services and software solutions.

Information regarding this contract may be found in the Office of the Purchasing Department, 301 North Wood Avenue, Linden, NJ 07036 during regular business hours and on the Sourcewell website.

The City of Linden is an authorized member of Sourcewell program in a resolution adopted on August 18, 2015.

It is the intent of the City of Linden to purchase Konica Minolta Multifunction devices, copiers, printers, services and software solutions from Document Solutions, LLC., the authorized distributor using Sourcewell Contract#112124-KON for the provision of Copiers, Printers, and Multi-Function Devices with Related Supplies, Accessories, and Services.

The Sourcewell contract term is April 1, 2025 through January 10, 2029.

The contract price for the copy machines, monthly maintenance and service was established by Sourcewell pursuant to its receipt of bids for such in the amount of $40,206.20.

The City of Linden will utilize this contract from September 16, 2026-August 15, 2027.

The City of Linden is permitted to join National Cooperative Purchasing Agreements under the Authority of N.J.S.A. 52:34-6.2(b)(3).

Notice of Intent to Award Contract under a National Cooperative Purchasing Agreement Contract for Cintas Corporation, 6800 Cintas Boulevard, Mason, OH 45040.

The City of Linden, in the County of Union and State of New Jersey, intends to award a contract to Cintas Corporation for citywide fire protection through the OMNIA Partners (OMNIA) contract##001299, Workplace Solutions, with The University of Nebraska.

The contract price was established by OMNIA Partners original Request For Proposals#3702-22-4618 and pursuant to its Customer Agreement Addendum No. 3 on April 8, 2025 for such in the amount not to exceed $24,927.26.

The City of Linden is an authorized member of the OMNIA Partners program in a resolution adopted on November 9, 2021.

Technology Training Workshop

  • What: Technology Training Workshop. This program is made possible in part by a 2026 Heart (history, education, arts reaching thousands) grant form the Union County Board of County Commissioners. Presenter will be Valerie Porter.
    • Session 1: Understanding AI cloning and how to spot it. The main focus will be how to protectyourself and know the AI cloning warning signs.
    • Session 2: Recognizing SCAM warning signs and what to do if you click. The main focus will be how to protect yourself, how to spot the scam, reduce future scams and how to block it.
