Senior Citizen Line Dancing

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Senior Citizen Line Dancing.

  • Who: For Linden Senior Residents.
  • What: Senior line dancing classes. Line dancing for seniors is a fun and healthy exercise. Dancing styles incorporated into the class include salsa, ballroom, and country western.
  • When: Thursdays, September 10, 2026 through November 19, 2026 from 10:30am until 11:30am.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • How: Free program for all Linden Senior Residents. To view full program description and register online, click here.   • Who: Linden Senior Residents.
  • What: Fit 4 Life; a free program to promote a healthy lifestyle within our senior citizen community. This program includes a focus on warm-ups, balance, strength training and stretching exercises.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • When: Mondays, from 9am to 10am starting September 14, 2026 through November 30, 2026.
    • No class: October 12, 2026.
  • How: Free program. To register or if you have questions, please call 908-474-8600.

2026 Fall Little Kickers Clinic

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to announce the 2026 Fall Little Kickers Clinic. Register early to secure a spot!

  • Who: Open to all children ages 4 and 5.
  • What: Outdoor soccer. All participants must have their own shin guards.
  • Where: Instructional Clinic will be held at Wheeler Park, which is located at 234 West Stimpson Avenue. Clinic located on the Soccer Field, entrance on West Stimpson Avenue.
  • When: The Little Kickers Clinic begins on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 9am. Clinic will run for eight (8) Saturdays: September 19, 26, October 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 and November 7.
  • How: Registration deadline is September 11, 2026. After deadline, all registrants must register by calling 908-474-8600, and a waiting list will be established. Registration fee is $65 for residents, and $75 for non-residents. A one-time annual $6 insurance fee will be added to your total registration fee, per child, if this has not already been paid for with another program. All participants must have their own shin guards. Register online here, or register in person at the John T. Gregorio Center (330 Helen Street) from 9am until 4pm, or at the Linden Multi Purpose Center (1025 John Street) from 9:30am until 7pm. No refunds once the Clinic begins.     • Child’s original birth certificate.
    • Household bill showing proof of residency.
    • Diver’s License or photo ID of parent/guardian signing up their child.

2026 Fall Soccer League

  • Who: Open to all children ages 6 through 12.

  • When: The League begins on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

Kids Canvas Paint Class

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Kids Canvas Paint Class.

  • Who: For kids ages 5 through 12.
  • What: Kids canvas paint classes. All supplies included. The painting classes are guided with the instructor showing every step. Small color copies of the painting will be handed out to the children for reference. Background music will be available to create a more creative and tranquil atmosphere for the young artists.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • When: September 22, 2026 from 6pm until 7:30pm. Also on the following dates with the same time…

Teen Pilates

  • Who: Ages 13 through 17.
  • What: Teen Pilates. Whether you’re crushing it on the field, in the gym, at dance, or spending hours with homework and screens, this class will help you unlock tight muscles. It will also help with improving flexibility and strengthening your core. Expect a fun mix of stretching, mobility drills, and core work designed to help you fell stronger, recover better, and move more freely!
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • When: Tuesdays, September 8, 2026 through September 29, 2026 from 4:30pm until 5:30pm.

Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-35 and Resolution 2026-252 the City of Linden will conduct a Public Auction Sale of surplus property that is no longer needed for public use. Online auction site.

Start Date: Monday, August 21, 2026 at 9am
End Date: Friday, September 4, 2026 beginning at 2pm with items closing at scheduled intervals until conclusion.

All Bidders are required to pre-register for bidding at the auction website here.  All bidders in this auction agree that they should read and fully understand the terms and conditions outlined on the site and agree to be bound thereby.  All items are sold “as is, where is” condition, free from any guarantee or warranty.  The City of Linden reserves the right to accept or reject any bid submitted.  All sales are final.
