Co-ed Wrestling

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to announce the Co-ed Wrestling Program.

  • Who: For ages 6 through 18.
  • What: Instruction on basic wrestling techniques and skills to improve one’s body awareness and overall confidence. All participants must have their own wrestling shoes. All skill levels are welcome.
  • When & Where: Program runs from December 2, 2025 through March 12, 2026.
  • How: $60 registration fee, plus a $6 insurance fee. All participants must have their own wrestling shoes. Register online here, or register in-person at the John T. Gregorio Center (330 Helen Street) from 9am until 4pm, or at the Linden Multi Purpose Center (1025 John Street) from 9am until 7pm. All locations accept checks, money orders, Visa and Mastercard. No cash. No refunds once the session begins. For more information, call (908) 474-8600. Please note, all new “First Time” participants must bring the following original documents at the time of registration and we will make copies:
    • Child’s original birth certificate.
    • Household bill showing proof of residency.
    • Diver’s License or photo ID of parent/guardian signing up their child.

The Linden Family Holiday Skate Party

Mayor Derek Armstead and the Department of Parks & Recreation in conjunction with DWill’s Skate Academy invites you to the Linden Family Holiday Skate Party. Join us in celebrating the community’s first roller skating event!

  • Who: Parents and children.
  • What: The Linden Family Holiday Skating Party.
  • When: Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 5pm until 8pm.
  • Where: Branch Brook Park, Roller Skating Center, Clifton Avenue & 7th Avenue, Newark, NJ (Transportation will be provided).
  • How: Registration required. Click here to register. The registration deadline is December 5, 2025, and there are just a few sports available. $35 per person. Ticket price includes skate rentals, 2 slices of pizza, unlimited soft drinks, glow sticks, and transportation (outside food is allowed). 9th Annual Holiday Breakfast with Santa

Mayor Derek Armstead, the Mayor’s Youth Commission and the Department of Parks & Recreation invite Linden families to the 9th Annual Holiday Breakfast with Santa. Seating limited to 180 families. Register now to secure your spot!

  • Who: Linden residents only.
  • What: Holiday breakfast with Santa! Kids eat free under age 16. Everyone 17 and over must pay a $5 entry donation, cash or check only made out to the Mayors Youth Commission. Toys will be gifted to children 10 years old and under. Take pictures with Santa. Seats limited to 180 people.
  • When: Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 8am until 11:30am.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • How: Registration required. Proof of Linden residency is required at event, bring your ID. Registration ends December 7, 2025. Kids eat free under age 16. Girls Open Gym

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Girls Open Gym, Linden Tiger Cub youth organization.

  • Who: All girls, grades 6 through 8, who plan to tryout for their school team.
  • What: Girls Open Gym. Get ready for the 2026 basketball season! Come out and play some pickup basketball to sharpen your skills before tryouts!
  • When/Where: Monday, November 10, 2025 from 6:30pm until 8:30pm at McManus Middle School, which is located at 300 Edgewood Road (enter through gym door 16 of Edgewood Road and Dewitt Terrace).
    • Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 6:30pm until 8:30pm at Soehl Middle School, which is located at 300 East Henry Street (enter through doors by orange rock).

  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • When: November 22, 2025 from 11am until 4pm.
  • How: Admission is free! Submit application and payment in full no later than Friday, November 7, 2025.   • What: Pumpkin Painting Pizza Party. Children will receive a pumpkin to paint and pizza to eat.
  • When: Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 11am until 1pm.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center (JTG), which is located at 330 Helen Street.

  • What: New York Knicks vs Utah Jazz Basketball game.
  • Where: Madison Square Garden, located on 4 Pennsylvania Plaza, New York, NY 10001.
    • Transportation will not be provided for this trip.
  • When: December 5, 2025, the game with be at 7:30pm.
  • How: Tickets will be sold to families who are interested in attending the game. Limited spots available. Registration deadline is October 31, 2025. 2025 Linden Tigers – Fall Baseball Camp

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer the 2025 Linden Tigers – Fall Baseball Camp.

  • Who: For boys ages 5 through 14.
  • What: Baseball Camp for boys, with instructors Craig Goldberg (LHS Varsity Baseball Head Coach), Xavier Krok (LHS Varsity Baseball Assistant Coach), Dan O’Lear (LHS Varsity Assistant Baseball Coach) and the Linden High School Varsity Baseball Players.
  • Where: Memorial Field (next to the P.A.L. Fields), which is located at 55 Lower Road.
  • When: Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
    • 9am until 11am for grades 3 through 5.
    • 11:30am until 1:30 pm for grades 6 through 8.

In person registration is available 9am until 4pm at the JTG Center (330 Helen Street), or 9am until 7pm at the Linden Multi-Purpose Center (1025 John Street). Online registration available 24/7. SNY Play Ball – Linden Pop Warner Tigers Football Clinic with the New York Jets

The City of Linden Pop Warner Tigers extend their sincere gratitude to SNY, the New York Jets organization, and All-Pro Linebacker Quincy Williams for hosting a memorable one-day clinic for our youth football players. The Pop Warner Tigers were incredibly excited and enthusiastic about the day, and this experience will be forever etched in their memories.
