Due to the rain forecast the Summer Day Camp & Playground Annual Craft & Talent Show has been rescheduled to tomorrow, Thursday, August 6.

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden and the Department of Parks & Recreation invite you to come see what the children and counselors have been doing all summer!

  • What: The Linden Summer Day Camp & Playground Annual Craft and Talent Show.
  • Where: Raymond Wood Bauer Promenade, which is located at 400 North Wood Avenue.

Linden 8th Ward Reunion and Community Festival 2026

  • Who: Linden’s school age residents.
  • What: Mayor’s Backpack Giveaway. Children must be present to receive a bag. One bag per child. While supplies last! In conjunction with Linden Public Schools ML Department Orientation Day. Empowering families through education, health, and community connections. Connecting families with valuable resources and services! Free pizza and water while supplies last.
    • Fun, resources, and multilingual family support.
    • Free food, health information, and giveaways.
    • Live music entertainment, and children’s activities.
    • Genesis and lunch form assistance.
    • Sign up for a free library card!
  • When: Friday, August 21, 2026 from 5pm until 7pm.
  • Where: School #1, which is located at 728 North Wood Avenue.
  • How: Proof of Linden residency will be required at check in to receive a ticket for a bag. One bag per child. While supplies last!

Pop Warner Football

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation present Pop Warner Football. One Team. One Community. One Goal.

  • Who: Open to all children ages 5 through 12.
    • Flag Football: Ages 5 through 7.
    • Tackle Football: Ages 8 through 12.
  • What: Pop Warner Football a subsidiary of Linden Youth Sports.
  • When: Practice begins on Wednesday, July 22 through Friday, November 20, 2026 from 6pm until 8pm.
  • Where: Al Kalla Park, which is located at 2800 Wickersham Avenue.
  • How: Flag football $50. Tackle football $100. Click here* to register. You can register in-person at the PAL building (400 Maple Avenue) on Saturdays from 9am until 3pm, or Al Kalla Park (2800 Wickersham Avenue) beginning July 22 from 6:30pm until 8pm. During registration you are required to bring the following options: check, money order, cash, cash app (coming soon). Checks and money orders must be made out to Linden Youth Sports. During registration you are required to bring the following:
    • End of school year report card
    • Birth certificate
    • Physical
    • Current picture

  • What: Come and enjoy the Summer Entertainment Series featuring Comedy Under the Stars, produced by Bob and Reggie Sumner at the Linden Outdoor Promenade with comedians Rashaun Reese, Cherry Ann Trinidad, and Jay Comedian. The evening’s soundtrack is provided by Linden’s very own DJ Mozart.
  • When: Thursday, July 23, 2026. Gates open at 6:30pm, showtime at 7pm.
  • Where: Raymond Wood Bauer Promenade, which is located at 400 North Wood Avenue.
  • How: Free admission. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional seating available for lawn chairs as space permits. In the event of possible rain, call 908-474-8604 after 3pm to verify if the event will go on as scheduled. If canceled, the event will be rescheduled for another date if possible.
