The leaking transmission main has been mostly isolated and water pressure is being restored in the system. As water pressure begins to return to customers’ homes, it may be discolored. If this occurs, customers should allow a cold water tap in the lowest part of their home to run until water is clear before collecting it to boil for consumption.
A potential or actual threat to the quality of water being provided to Linden currently exists. As a precaution, New Jersey American Water is implementing a limited Boil Water Advisory until testing of the water supply is deemed satisfactory. New Jersey American Water will provide information as to when the advisory is lifted.
Effective immediately and until further notice, customers within the impacted area are instructed to bring tap water to a rolling boil for one minute and allow cooling before using or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking; preparing foods; mixing baby formula, food, juices or drinks; washing vegetables and fruit; cooking; making ice; brushing teeth; and washing dishes until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.

Countries selected were United States, Greece, Australia, Brazil, France, Canada, Cuba, Liberia, and Italy. Each site created a banner to represent their country as they walked across the track to the delight of parents and community members.
Over 100 youth between the ages of 5 and 18 participated in the ensuing track meet. The track meet consisted of several events, including the 55 Meter Dash, 100 Meter Dash, and Softball Throw. All participants received medals for their efforts, and participants who placed earned gold, silver, or bronze medals.
