Wastewater Plant Electrician

A major northeast Wastewater Treatment Plant is looking for an Electrician. Duties include but are not limited to preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment for the plant and pumping stations involving 480/240/120 volts, maintenance of electrical systems for buildings and grounds, pumps valves, motors, controls etc. Industrial Electrical knowledge and experience is a must.

Requirements include good communication skills, possession of a valid driver’s license, knowledge and understanding of the maintenance procedures. A high school diploma or equivalent training and experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, at least 3 years appropriate experience. Knowledge of industrial instrumentation, and experience, and 1,460 volts is a plus.

The public may offer comment, at appropriate times by voice when the meeting is open for public comment in the program, or by submitting written comment no later than 12:00 P.M. prevailing local time, on the date of the meeting to the Commission Chairman/Secretary by email or by fax to (908) 474-8451. Please include your name and address in the correspondence and title emails “public meeting comment.” Please keep your microphone muted until the public comment portion of the meeting. Official action may be taken at this meeting. Portions of the meeting may be held in Executive Session.

TAKE NOTICE, that on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at 4pm at the 2nd Floor Parking Garage Entrance of the Linden City Hall, 301 North Wood Avenue, Linden, New Jersey, a PUBLIC HEARING will be held to discuss programs and grant applications that the City of Linden will submit to the Union County Community Development Revenue Sharing Committee for fiscal year 2021-2022 (CD Year 47) and to review past funding. In addition, the public may present projects for funding consideration by the City or the County. Submit written comments electronically only here.

Notice RE December 8, 2020 Planning Board Meeting

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on December 8, 2020 in accordance with the Open Public Meeting Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et. seq., and the Governor of New Jersey’s Executive Orders 102 and 104 regarding COVID-19 the Planning Board of the City of Linden will conduct its regular meeting at 6:30 PM. The meeting will be conducted VIRTUALLY due to the current health problems limiting personal contact and public gatherings through electronic communication equipment to facilitate public comments or questions. This is a no registration required meeting. Members of the Public may access the meeting from their computer, tablet or smartphone by clicking on this link.

At this meeting the Board will vote on four (4) Resolution; namely SD-755-20 – KW Home Kreation, LLC; SP-1133-20 – Linden Development, LLC (Starbucks); SD-756-20 – Linden Development, LLC (Starbucks) and SP-1132-20 – Linden Development, LLC (Medical Office Professional Building). The Board will also hear two (2) Applications; namely, SD-753-20 – KW Home Kreation, LLC and SP-1122 – 20 – WaWa.

Copies of any exhibits that will be utilized by the Applicant at the hearing will also be made available at the aforementioned link at least two (2) days prior to the hearing. The City website may also contain information as to where hard copies of these documents can be viewed.

The Board shall also hear the Redevelopment Study and Investigation Reports for Block 51, Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 32, 33 and 34 and for Block 288, Lots 3, 4.01, 4.02, 8.01, 9, 10 and 12; and Block 321, Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 for review and comments pursuant to the Local Redevelopment Law N.J.S.A.40A:12A-1 et. seq..

The Board will also vote on the dates and times for the 2021 meetings and shall appoint a Nominating Committee to recommend the elections of Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary of the Planning Board and the Appointments of the Planning Board Attorney, Board Planner and Board Stenographer.

Members of the public wishing to offer comments can access the meeting using the electronic platform below. Please keep your microphone muted until the public comment portion of the meeting. Official action may be taken at this meeting. Portions of the meeting may be held in Executive Session.

Public comments shall be permitted only during the period when the meeting is open to public comment. Public attendees should remain muted until the meeting is opened to public comments. Written comments may be submitted by 2pm on the date of the meeting. 

Notice RE 2021 Shade Tree Commission Meetings

At the November 5, 2020 Regular Meeting of the Linden Shade Tree Commission, the following was resolved setting the calendar for Regular Meetings for the Year 2021. Meetings to be held the first Thursday of the month with the exception of July, 2021. No regular meeting will be held in July 2021. Meetings will begin at 7:00 pm or as soon thereafter as the commissioners are gathered. Meetings normally will be held in the Planning Room, 3rd Floor, City Hall. However, given the COVID 19 Pandemic, meetings may need to be held using a virtual platform. In that case, access instructions for the virtual meeting will  be posted/advertised as required by law. Portions of meetings may be held in executive session and official action may be taken. Meeting dates are as follows:
