Men’s Basketball League

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer the Men’s Basketball League.

  • Who: Men’s League for ages 18 and older.
  • What: The Men’s Basketball League is designed to instill physical activity, community engagement and healthy competition among men of all ages and skill levels.
  • Where: Linden Multi-Purpose Center, which is located at 1025 John Street.
  • When: Start date is January 23, 2024. The League will run for eight (8) weeks on Tuesday nights, with two (2) weeks of playoffs.

  • What: Have your child enjoy a free art-filled program! Each session will be focused on unique and enjoyable crafts. Let their creativity blossom.
  • Where: Linden Multi-Purpose Center, which is located at 1025 John Street.
  • When: January through March on the second and fourth Thursday of the month, from 3:30pm until 5pm.
    • January 11 and 25.
    • February 8 and 22.
    • March 14 and 28.

Kids’ Fitness and Tumbling

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Kids’ Fitness and Tumbling, hosted by Travelin’ Tumblers.

  • Who: 18 months through 3 years old.
  • What: Kids’ Fitness and Tumbling uses lively music and varying themes to boost the fitness level and self-esteem of children through diverse and enriching physical activities. The program is hosted by Travelin’ Tumblers and helps to improve the confidence, motor skills, fitness level and communication skills of participants.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • When: January 18 through February 15, from 9:15am until 10am.

Intro Boot Camp Exercise Class

  • What: Come join the Broadway Strong Bootcamp and start your year with four (4) great workouts. Class instructor is Wali Broadway. Please bring your own mat.

Mixed Martial Arts

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Mixed Martial Arts, a six (6) week youth program.

  • Who: Two age groups: ages 5 through 10, and ages 11 through 17.
  • What: Mixed Martial Arts, an effective form of self defense. Marital Arts is an art form that tests not only physical strength and endurance, but mental perseverance, determination and patience. This is all through a positive attitude, discipline, and respect towards others and ourselves.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • When: Six week program. Every Wednesday from January 17 through February 21, 2024.
    • Ages 5 through 10, from 5:45pm until 7pm.
    • Ages 11 through 17, from 7pm until 8:15pm.

  • What: Senior line dancing classes. Line dancing for seniors is a fun, healthy and rewarding activity and exercise. Dancing styles incorporated into the class include salsa, ballroom and country western.
