  • How: Registration required. Complete the form below to secure your spot, seating limited to 150 families. Proof of Linden residency is required at event, bring your ID. Kids Canvas Paint!

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Kids Canvas Paint. Due to the popularity of this class, we are offering two dates per month to register your child for the class. Please choose one or the other. There are 15 slots per class and the classes fill quickly. Don’t be left out, register today!

  • Who: For kids ages 5 through 12.
  • What: Kids canvas paint classes. All supplies included. The painting classes are guided with the instructor showing every step. Small color copies of the painting will be handed out to the children for reference. Background music will be available to create a more creative and tranquil atmosphere for the young artists.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • When: Due to the popularity of this class, we are offering two dates per month (please choose one or the other). Each class is from 6pm until 7:30pm.
    • January 7 and 21.
    • February 4 and 18.
    • March 4 and 18.

2025 Indoor Soccer

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to announce the 2025 Indoor Soccer Program. Register early to secure a spot on a team!

  • Who: Open to all children ages 6 through 12.
  • What: Indoor soccer. All participants must have their own shin guards.
  • Where: All League games are played at the Linden Multi Purpose Center, which is located at 1025 John Street.
  • When: The League begins on Saturday, January 18, 2025
    • Start time/hours varies with team assignment.
  • How: Registration deadline is December 27, 2024. After deadline, all registrants must register at the main office. A waiting list will be established after 40 registrants. Registration fee is $56 for residents, and $66 for non-residents. The registration fee includes a one-time annual $6 insurance fee. All participants must have their own shin guards. Register online here, or register in person at the John T. Gregorio Center (330 Helen Street) from 9am until 4pm, or at the Linden Multi Purpose Center (1025 John Street) from 9am until 7pm. All locations accept checks, money orders, Visa and Mastercard. No Cash. No refunds once the League begins. For more information, call (908) 474-8600. Please note: all new “First Time” participants must bring the following original documents that will be verified at registration:
    • Child’s original birth certificate.
    • Household bill showing proof of residency.
    • Diver’s License or photo ID of parent/guardian signing up their child.

  • Where: All Clinic practices are played at the Linden Multi Purpose Center, which is located at 1025 John Street.
  • When: The League begins on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 9am. Clinic will run for eight (8) Saturdays: January 8 and 25, February 1, 8, 15 and 22 and March 1 and 8.

Blossoming Bowlers 3 – October 2024

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation in cooperation with the Linden Police Department are pleased to present the photos from the Blossoming Bowlers 3 event from October 26, 2024. Linden’s Blossoming Bowlers striked up some more fun as they engaged in fun activities with their family members at Jersey Lanes. This Special Needs bowling program was in collaboration with the Linden Police Department and funded by the NJ Department of Community Affairs ROID Grant. It consisted of free music, food, treats, face painting, and Board of Health resources. This outing on October 26 was a great opportunity for families to be physically active and to make unforgettable memories. Stay tuned for another bowling family outing in 2025!

Please be advised that Addendum #1 for the above-mentioned bid has been issued and is now an integral part of the bid specification. Any bids received that do not properly acknowledge this addendum will be deemed non-responsive and be rejected in their entirety. Anyone who has already submitted a bid can pick up their bid package from the City of Linden’s Purchasing Department with proof of identification. Copies of the addenda are available in the Office of Purchasing, 301 North Wood Avenue, Linden, NJ 07036 or by calling the office at 908-474-8444 during normal workdays between 9:00 am and 4:00pm.
