Mayor Derek Armstead, Council President Michele Yamakaitis, the City of Linden, Uptown Linden, the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union present the 3rd annual City of Linden 2022 Polish Festival. Bringing the Polish community together for one big event!

  • Who: Fun for all ages!
  • What: Polish festival with authentic Polish food, a beer and wine tent, Polish vendors, Polish Living History, live Polish music & DJ, and children’s activities.
  • Where: In front of Linden City Hall (301 North Wood Avenue) and the Raymond Wood Bauer Promenade (400 North Wood Avenue).
  • When: Saturday, September 17th from 1pm until 9pm. Rain date is Sunday, September 18th.

Notice for Request for Qualifications for Property Management Services

The City of Linden is requesting legal proposals from qualified individuals and firms to provide (“contractor(s)” or “proposer(s)”) to provide property management of a specialized nature to the City of Linden. Proposals will be evaluated in accordance with the criteria set forth in this RFQ. One or more individuals/firms may be selected to provide services.

Notice is hereby given that sealed submissions will be received by the Purchasing Agent, Ann Marie Whelan, of the City of Linden, on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 11:00 A.M. prevailing time, in Planning Board Room #215, City Hall, City of Linden, 301 N. Wood Avenue, Linden, NJ 07036 then publicly opened and read aloud.

Hurricane Ida Recovery Action Plan – Public Hearings and Comment Period

The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) opened a 30-day period (starting on August 17, 2022) for people to provide public comment on the Hurricane Ida Recovery Action Plan, which details how the State proposes to utilize $228,346,000 in federal Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds to help households and communities meet unmet housing, infrastructure, planning, and other needs that have resulted from the effects of Hurricane Ida. The public comment period will run through September 16, 2022, and will include in-person public hearings in Manville and Newark, which were among the municipalities hardest hit by Hurricane Ida.

The Hurricane Ida Action Plan may be obtained in English and Spanish on the DCA’s website.

People may submit their comments through the DCA website, by email or by mail to the attention of:

DPW Yard Will Be Closed on Saturday, August 20, 2022

The DPW yard will be closed Saturday, August 20, 2022 for bulk trash, due to roadway paving. For one day only, Saturday, August 20, 2022, residents can take their bulk trash to the recycling center from 8am until 2pm. Bulk trash will resume on Monday, August 22, 2022. Thank you.

  • Who: Fun for all ages.
  • What: Classic & custom car and motorcycle show, DJ & live music events, delicious festival food, eating contents, fun carnival rides, games & activities, beer & wine tent, and a vendor marketplace.
  • Where: On Wood Avenue at Linden City Hall, which is located at 301 North Wood Avenue.
  • When: Saturday, September 24th from 11am until 8pm. Rain date for the street festival only is Sunday, September 25th.
