Please be advised that there is 1 (FT) vacancies for the position of Omnibus Operator/ Recreation Leader in the Department of Recreation and Senior Services at the hourly rate of $18-23.00 per hour. This position is full time for 35 hours per week. Please post this in an area available to all employees. Job description attached. Requirements:

  • Linden resident 18+ years old
  • Valid CDL with passenger endorsement
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience

Notice RE Linden Public Health Officer Position Available In The Board of Health

The City of Linden is seeking a Licensed Public Health Officer, to service a  growing, diverse and dynamic community. The ideal candidate should be an individual who possess exceptional skills in organization and communications. They should also be adept at integrating electronic technology into the Department, and the use of social media tools for effective public outreach. The candidate shall also be capable of  effectively overseeing the office staff.

Under the direction of the Board of Health and Governing Body of the City of Linden, the individual will recommend local public health policies and will implement, coordinate, and direct the work program of  the Linden Health Department, including the enforcement of public health rules and regulations within the municipality. They will perform related work, as required, and be responsible for the overseeing of inspections, investigations, and other measures required to enforce the provisions of  the local and state health laws. The ideal candidate will  plan and direct measures required to abate nuisances which may affect the public’s health and sanitation, and ensure that an adequate program of child health services is provided for.

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in Public Health or related field and a valid Health Officer’s License issued by the New Jersey Department of Health.

Job Opportunity

Wastewater Plant Electrician

A major northeast Wastewater Treatment Plant is looking for an Electrician. Duties include but are not limited to preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment for the plant and pumping stations involving 480/240/120 volts, maintenance of electrical systems for buildings and grounds, pumps valves, motors, controls etc. Industrial Electrical knowledge and experience is a must.

Requirements include good communication skills, possession of a valid driver’s license, knowledge and understanding of the maintenance procedures. A high school diploma or equivalent training and experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, at least 3 years appropriate experience. Knowledge of industrial instrumentation, and experience, and 1,460 volts is a plus.
