If you’re having trouble affording your utility bills, there is good news! Due to the economic situation caused by the pandemic, New Jersey temporarily expanded its low-income energy assistance programs and its energy debt forgiveness program to middle class households (see new income limits by clicking here). Also, the USF-Fresh Start program offers a once in a lifetime opportunity to have electric and gas balances forgiven. All homes in Linden that have their holiday lights on from December 12th to December 20th will be judged. No registration required. Winners to be announced December 28th. Winning homes will be on the City of Linden website and pictures will be shared on Linden’s Facebook and Nextdoor pages. Gift cards will be mailed to the winning homes. Homes that have won in the past two years will not be eligible.

Registration has begun for the City of Linden Department of Parks & Recreation winter season. The department offers a variety of classes for youth, adults and senior citizens, in such areas as soccer, wrestling, karate, art, ceramics, arts & crafts, line dancing, Zumba, knitting, complete fitness and more.

The City of Linden, Shade Tree Commission meeting has been scheduled for 7pm. The Meeting will be conducted virtually via Zoom due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Official action may be taken and portions of the meeting may be held in executive session. Click here to join the meeting.

Members of the public who may be attending are on mute until the public hearing or during the public comment portion of the meeting. If you wish to be recognized please use the raised hand icon, in the program, to identify yourself. You will then give your name and address. Failure to do so, will result in you being muted, and not recognized further.
