Utility Assistance Programs
Utility companies will resume shut off of service for nonpayment after December 31, 2021. Don’t delay, apply for energy assistance today!
If you’re having trouble affording your utility bills, there is good news! Due to the economic situation caused by the pandemic, New Jersey temporarily expanded its low-income energy assistance programs and its energy debt forgiveness program to middle class households (see new income limits by clicking here). Also, the USF-Fresh Start program offers a once in a lifetime opportunity to have electric and gas balances forgiven. Holiday House Decorating Contest
Let’s light up Linden with Holiday spirit! Mayor Derek Armstead, The City of Linden and The Linden Cultural & Heritage Committee present the Holiday House Decorating Contest!
All homes in Linden that have their holiday lights on from December 12th to December 20th will be judged. No registration required. Winners to be announced December 28th. Winning homes will be on the City of Linden website and pictures will be shared on Linden’s Facebook and Nextdoor pages. Gift cards will be mailed to the winning homes. Homes that have won in the past two years will not be eligible.

Winter Recreation Registration
Registration has begun for the City of Linden Department of Parks & Recreation winter season. The department offers a variety of classes for youth, adults and senior citizens, in such areas as soccer, wrestling, karate, art, ceramics, arts & crafts, line dancing, Zumba, knitting, complete fitness and more.

- To register in-person, visit the Parks & Recreation office in the John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street. You may also register by going to the Linden Multi-Purpose Center at 1025 John Street.

City of Linden 2021 Tree Lighting
Mayor Derek Armstead and the Cultural & Heritage Committee invite the City of Linden to attend the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting. Enjoy live entertainment, holiday music, refreshments and meet Santa! Starts at 6pm at Linden City Hall. After the tree lighting, Linden families are invited to the Promenade to take pictures with Santa and enjoy refreshments. Christmas Pop Up Toy Drive

December 2nd, 2021 Shade Tree Commission Meeting Notice
The City of Linden, Shade Tree Commission meeting has been scheduled for 7pm. The Meeting will be conducted virtually via Zoom due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Official action may be taken and portions of the meeting may be held in executive session. Click here to join the meeting.

Members of the public who may be attending are on mute until the public hearing or during the public comment portion of the meeting. If you wish to be recognized please use the raised hand icon, in the program, to identify yourself. You will then give your name and address. Failure to do so, will result in you being muted, and not recognized further.
