Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish’s 100th Anniversary celebration

St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish Celebrates Centennial Anniversary in Linden.

Linden, NJ, May 1, 2025 The Parish of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus marked a significant milestone on Sunday, April 27th, celebrating its 100th anniversary with a jubilant Mass held at the church. The centennial celebration continued with a special reception at The Grand in Totowa.

Mayor Derek Armstead proudly recognized this enduring congregation for its century of service to the Linden community. “For the past 100 years, the St. Theresa community has been an integral and deeply valued part of our City,” Mayor Armstead noted. “Their contributions, both spiritual and communal, have enriched the lives of countless residents.”

In honor of this momentous anniversary, official resolutions were presented to the Pastor of St. Theresa, Reverend Ireneusz Pierzchala. These recognitions came from the City of Linden, presented by Council President Michele Yamakaitis; the County of Union, delivered by County Commissioner Joseph Bodek; and the State Senate, conveyed by Union County Surrogate Christopher Hudak.

Founded in 1925, St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish has served as a cornerstone of the Linden community, initially established to meet the spiritual and educational needs of the Polish immigrant population. Over the past century, the parish has grown into a diverse and vibrant faith community, holding a special place in the hearts of generations of Linden residents.

The City of Linden extends its heartfelt congratulations to St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish on this remarkable achievement and wishes them another 100 years of faith, service, and community spirit. Sto Lat!

Nixle Upgrade – Critical & Time Sensitive Information

Everbridge is the company that owns Nixle, which the City of Linden uses to push critical alerts to Linden residents. Everbridge is deprecating the current legacy Nixle system in use, which means that residents will need to sign up to receive general and emergency notifications through Everbridge.

The new system includes enhanced features and customization, enabling residents to receive the messages they want and ignore the ones that are not relevant. It also allows residents to choose to receive information via text, email, push notifications, or all of the above!

Unfortunately, everyone will need to register for an Everbridge account, even if you are currently receiving Nixle alerts. The transition is expected to be completed on or about June 1, 2025, but there is no need to worry; all users will still receive Nixle alerts throughout the transition period.

Here’s what you’ll need to do:

  • Download and Install the Everbridge App directly from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). The links will take you directly to the Everbridge App.
  • Register for an Everbridge account. You can find our organization by typing “07036” in the search bar and clicking on the Linden Police Department logo.
  • Login and manage your subscriptions under the “My Subscriptions ” tab.

You can also click here or on the button below to register directly on the Everbridge website.
