Notice RE New Job Positions Available In The City of Linden

Once completed all applications must be returned via email or mailed to City of Linden City Clerks’ Office, 301 North Wood Avenue, Linden, NJ 07036. Applications that are mailed must be postmarked by the application deadline or they will be returned to the applicant. Please be advised that all employment applications must be completed at the time of submission. Please include copies of resumes, proof of qualifications or any additional documents you wish to submit with your application.

Submission Deadline is August 4th, 2023 at 4:30pm.

  • Two full time Truck Driver Tier 2 (PW) positions, in the Department of Community Services.
  • Two full time Tree Trimmer w/CDL License: Tier 2 (PW) positions, in the Department of Community Services.
  • One part time Building Inspector position, in the Office of Construction Code.

2023 Linden Tigers – Summer Baseball Camp

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer the 2023 Linden Tigers – Summer Baseball Camp.

  • Who: For boys ages 5 through 14.
  • What: Baseball Camp for boys, with instructors Brandon Czajikowski (LHS Varsity Baseball Head Coach), Frank Hasenauer (LHS Varsity Baseball Assistant Coach) and the Linden High School Varsity Baseball Players.
  • Where: Memorial Field (next to the P.A.L. Fields), which is located at 46 Lower Road.
  • When: 8:30am until 1pm, from July 24 through July 26.
    • Rain date: Thursday, July 27.
  • How: Registration fee is $30 per person. To view full program description and register online, click here. In person registration is available 9am until 4pm at the JTG Center (330 Helen Street), or at the Linden Multi-Purpose Center (1025 John Street). Online registration available 24/7. Community Center Building is the only center to accept exact cash. Make checks payable to: Linden Recreation Baseball.   • What to bring to camp: Water, baseball glove, baseball bat, baseball cleats, hat, lunch, sunscreen, and shorts and towel for the slip-N-slide.

2023 Linden Girls – Summer Softball Camp

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer the 2023 Linden Girls – Summer Softball Camp.

  • Who: For girls ages 8 through 13.
  • What: Softball Camp for girls, with instructor Griffin Thomas (LHS Varsity Softball Coach) and LHS players as assistant staff.
  • Where: P.A.L. Fields, which is located at 75 Lower Road.
  • When: 9am until 12pm, from July 17 through July 20.
    • Rain date: Friday, July 21.

A Juneteenth Celebration: The Cookout

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, the Department of Parks & Recreation, the Linden Education Association, your teachers, and educational support professionals invite you to attend a Juneteenth celebration: The Cookout.

  • What: A Juneteenth celebration: The Cookout, a day of culture, sharing and learning. The Cookout is an engaging showcase that connects the past to the present. We promote connections through storytelling, music, dance and food. We invite you to attend and interact with all participants! Each participant is partnering with our community and schools to increase awareness of what they do best. This day will be filled with learning experiences that will capture the heart of black history and unify the community.
  • Where: Raymond Wood Bauer Promenade, which is located at 400 North Wood Avenue.
  • When: Saturday, June 17, from 12pm until 4pm.
    • Rain Date: Sunday, June 18, from 1pm until 5pm.
