Notice RE May 10, 2022 Planning Board Meeting

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on May 10, 2022 in accordance with the Open Public Meeting Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et. seq., and the Governor of New Jersey’s Executive Orders 102 and 104 regarding COVID-19 the Planning Board of the City of Linden will conduct its regular meeting at 6:30 pm.

The meeting will be held in person, but those who wish to attend Virtually may do so, this way limiting personal contact at a public gathering. Registration is not required for this meeting. Members of the Public may access the meeting from their computer, tablet or smartphone by going here and then clicking on the “Virtual Meeting Link” hyperlink. 

At this meeting the Board will vote on Resolutions; namely SP 1148-22 Dunkin Donuts – 651 N. Stiles Street, SP 1145-21- Re-zone – 1200 W. Edgar Rd, 837 Pleasant St., 925 Pleasant St., 1300 W. Edgar Rd. & 933 Smith St, and SP 1149-22 Penske Truck Leasing Co., LP – 1540 Lower Road; and hear Redevelopment Study and Preliminary Investigation Report for Block 469, Lot 38.06. Copies of the filed Plans submitted by the Applicant can be reviewed on the City website here. Copies of any exhibits that will be utilized by the Applicant at the hearing will also be made available at the aforementioned link at least two (2) days prior to the hearing.

“Empowering Our Youth” Summer Employment Program

The Union County Board of County Commissioners announced the launch of the “Empowering Our Youth” Summer Employment Program. Now open to applicants, this program is run by the Union County Division of Youth Services and is offered to County residents ages 16 through 24 years old.

This employment program is offering both full-time and part-time positions at various locations at $15 an hour. The “Empowering Our Youth” Summer Employment Program can provide uniforms, transportation, and childcare to those looking for summer jobs.

  • Participants must meet WIOA qualifications, submit a complete application, and provide copies of birth certificate, social security card and unexpired ID for certification.
  • Participants must attend orientation, interview, and career/skills assessment to start program.

May 5th, 2022 Shade Tree Commission Meeting Notice

The City of Linden, Shade Tree Commission meeting has been scheduled for 7pm. The Meeting will be conducted virtually. Official action may be taken and portions of the meeting may be held in executive session. 

The link to join the meeting, the phone number to dial into the meeting and the link to all meeting documents, including a PDF of this notice are available once meeting details are finalized.

Members of the public who may be attending are on mute until the public hearing or during the public comment portion of the meeting. If you wish to be recognized please use the raised hand icon, in the program, to identify yourself. You will then give your name and address. Failure to do so, will result in you being muted, and not recognized further.
