“Frozen Jr.” at Soehl Middle School

The Soehl Middle School Drama Club presents “Frozen Jr.”, with music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.

  • Who: The Soehl Middle School Drama Club.
  • What: Performance of “Frozen Jr.” Based on the Disney film that was written by Jenniffer Lee and directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee.
  • Where: Soehl Middle School Auditorium, which is located at 300 East Henry Street.

2022 John T. Gregorio Basketball Camp

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden and the Department of Parks & Recreation are proud to offer another quality program: the 2022 John T. Gregorio Summer Basketball Camp.   • Who: Open to children entering grades 3rd through 8th. Linden residents only.
  • What: The basketball camp will cover basketball fundamentals, ball handling skills, footwork techniques, rebounding, shooting skills, dribbling skills, as well as offensive and defensive strategies.
  • Where: All games will be played in the gymnasium at the Linden High School, which is located at 121 West St. Georges Avenue.
  • When: Monday, June 27, 2022 through Thursday, June 30, 2022. Camp hours are Monday through Wednesday from 9am until 2pm (bring lunch), and on Thursday from 9am until 12pm.
  • How: Free, but registration is required. Registration deadline is June 24, 2022. Register online or in-person. To register online, click here and log into your existing Community Pass account. To register in person, visit the John T. Gregorio Center (330 Helen Street) between 9am and 4pm, or the Linden Multi-Purpose Center (1025 John Street) between 9am and 7pm. All first-time registrants are required to call during business hours to have an account set up and MUST provide the following: birth certificate for child, a household bill showing proof of residency and a driver’s license or photo I.D. for the parent/guardian signing up their child.

Volunteer: Blue Acres Clean-Up and Planting Event

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, Infineum and Phillips 66 – Bayway Refinery are proud to sponsor the volunteer Blue Acres Clean-Up and Planting Event on June 3rd, 2022.

Wear boots and bring gloves. Clippers and shovels will be provided. There will also be a CWF Biologist presentation about the wildlife of the site. To view and/or download the informational flyer for the event, click here.

  • What: Tree/shrub planting, cage management, weeding and cleanup.
  • Where: Tremley Point Blue Acres Site. Meet at the 7th Ward Community Center, which is located at 2907 Tremley Point Road, Linden NJ 07036
  • When: Friday, June 3rd, 2022 from 8am until 4pm. A CWF Biologist presentation about the site’s wildlife will take place at 12pm.
  • How: Baywar Refinery company volunteers should use the Benevity System from their own device. With questions, contact Mary Phillips at (908) 523-5975. Infineum Bayway company volunteers should contact Azariah Clifton at (908) 692-4343. Infineum LBTC company volunteers should contact Robert Perry at (908) 692-4342.

Memorial Day Cruise Night

Galloping Hill Cruisers is pleased to present the Memorial Day Cruise Night on Monday, May 30, 2022.

  • **Cash donations** will be used to purchase gasoline gift cards.

2022 City of Linden Summer Concert Series

The Linden Department of Parks and Recreation is excited to announce the free 2022 City of Linden Summer Concert Series!

  • When: Tuesday and Friday nights starting June 3rd through September 20th. For the complete concert schedule dates and times, click here. Doors open at 7pm, and the concerts are from 7:30pm until 9pm.
  • Where: Raymond Wood Bauer Promenade, which is located at 400 North Wood Avenue, Linden NJ 07036. In the event of inclement weather, please call (908) 474-8604 for after 4pm for the status of the concert. The concert may be relocated to the John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street, Linden NJ 07036.
  • How: Free event. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional seating available for lawn chairs as space permits.

Linden Girl Open Run Nights

Linden Girl Open Run Nights is a new and free program for high school girls, which consists of open basketball runs at the Linden Multi Purpose Center. This program will be run by the girls middle school basketball coach Kyle Phipps and Department of Parks & Recreation Leader Rooks Crawford every Thursday night from 6pm until 8pm.
