Union County Gun Surrender Program

The Union County Prosecutor’s Office, Union County Board of County Commissioners, Union County Police Chiefs Association, Union County Sheriff’s Department, and Union County Police Department along with the local police departments from Berkeley Heights, Clark, Cranford, Elizabeth, Fanwood, Garwood, Hillside, Kenilworth, Linden, Mountainside, New Providence, Plainfield, Rahway, Roselle, Roselle Park, Scotch Plains, Springfield, Summit, Union, Westfield, and Winfield present the Union County Gun Surrender Program.

  • What: Union County Gun Surrender Program. Accepting firearms, ammo and/or prescription drugs. Amnesty program: no questions asked. Surrendered items can be received at any location.
  • When: Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 9am until 4pm.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.

CPR Training

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, the Linden Police Department and Linden Fire Department are pleased to offer free CPR training to Linden residents. Two opportunities to attend. Space is limited, register today!

The City of Linden is hosting 2024 Ward-Wide Garage Sales, with no permit required, for the following Wards and dates:

  • 7th and 9th Wards on September 28 and September 29, 2024.
  • 10th Ward on October 5 and October 6, 2024.
  • 3rd Ward on October 12 and October 13, 2024.
  • 4th Ward on October 12 and October 13, 2024.

    • Parade lineup will begin at 1pm.

Senior Citizen Beginners Strength Training Class

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Senior Citizen Beginners Strength Training Class. Join us for a total body workout! Learn how to utilize weights to build strong bones.

Senior Citizen Bowling

  • Who: For Linden Senior Residents.
  • What: Senior Citizen Bowling!
  • Where: Jersey Lanes which is located at 30 Park Avenue. Pick up and drop off will take place at the John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • When: Wednesdays, October 2 through December 11, from 1pm until 3pm.
  • How: Fee for program is $5. Must be a Recreation Senior Citizen Member to register. The fee includes 2 hours of bowling time, transportation and shoes. Pick up and drop off will take place at the JTG center.

Senior Citizen Water Aerobics

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Senior Citizen Water Aerobics.

  • Who: For Linden Senior Residents.
  • What: Seniors will enjoy the benefit of low-impact water aerobics led by a certified instructor. Swimwear is required, and swim caps are recommended.
  • Where: Rahway YMCA, which is located at 1564 Irving Street, Rahway, NJ 07065. Transportation will be provided, drop off and pick up will be from the John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • When: Tuesdays, October 1 through December 17, from 9am until 10am.
