Linden Police Department Youth Police Academy

  • Who: The Linden Police Department Youth Police Academy is available to Linden students graduating 6th, 7th and 8th grades.
  • What: Linden Police Department Youth Academy. As part of the Academy, you’ll learn about the Linden Police Department and other law enforcement agencies, you’ll receive basic training in police procedures/operations, criminal investigations, drill and ceremony and first aid! You will also benefit from demonstrations including DUI goggles, the effects of drinking and driving, K‐9, SWAT, Bomb Squad, and more! And most of all, you’ll have a lot of fun! The LPD Youth Academy is NOT a “bootcamp” for troubled youth. The Academy is structured to simulate a police academy for those interested in law enforcement.
  • When: July 13 through July 17, 2026.
  • How: Application deadline is April 17, 2026 at 3pm. Space is limited to 30 recruits. Enrollment will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. No late applications will be accepted. A Special Council meeting of the City Council of the City of Linden has been scheduled for Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 6pm, at 301 North Wood Ave, Council Chambers, Linden, NJ. Notice RE New Job Positions Available In The City of Linden

Once completed all applications must be returned via email or mailed to City of Linden City Clerks’ Office, 301 North Wood Avenue, Linden, NJ 07036. Applications that are mailed must be postmarked by the application deadline or they will be returned to the applicant. Please be advised that all employment applications must be completed at the time of submission. Please include copies of resumes, proof of qualifications or any additional documents you wish to submit with your application.

Submission Deadline is Friday, October 3, 2025 at 4:30pm.

The City of Linden Pop Warner Tigers extend their sincere gratitude to SNY, the New York Jets organization, and All-Pro Linebacker Quincy Williams for hosting a memorable one-day clinic for our youth football players. The Pop Warner Tigers were incredibly excited and enthusiastic about the day, and this experience will be forever etched in their memories. Mission

Honor and recognize City of Linden servicemen and women and their families who have served or given their lives to our country in the United States Armed Forces.

Application Requirements

In order to be considered for a banner, the nominee must meet the following requirements:

  • Lived in the City of Linden at some point in their lifetime.
  • Served in one of the following branches: Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine.
  • Meet one of the following criteria: honorably discharged Veteran, died in the line of duty

Banner Design, Time Frame & Location

Banners are approximately 29”x 55”, vinyl material and feature a photo of the Veteran, with their name, rank, branch of service, and dates of active service. Banners will be displayed on poles along Wood Avenue for a designated period of time. Banner locations will be selected randomly and specific display locations cannot be requested. A branch of service circular logo will adorn the banner over the veteran’s image. The banners will contain the logos of Linden Special Improvement District, the Linden Board of Education, the City of Linden, The Linden Society for Historic Preservation, and the Linden Public Library.

Banner Photograph (Required)

Please secure a photograph of the veteran you would like to use on the banner, and submit the photograph with the application. The better quality photograph, the better the reproduction on the banner. We will accept a digital photograph, preferably a service portrait.
