Vaccination Night Clinic – Tonight – December 9th, 2021

Mayor Derek Armstead has partnered with Super Health Pharmacy once again to provide Linden residents with both Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccinations. Walkups permitted, but you must first fill out the consent form online by clicking here.

Notice RE December 14, 2021 Planning Board Meeting

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on December 14, 2021 in accordance with the Open Public Meeting Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et. seq., the Planning Board of the City of Linden will conduct its regular meeting at 6:30 pm.

At this meeting the Board will vote on Resolutions; namely SP 1140-21 – 327 W. St. Georges Avenue – IJAS LLC, SP 1141-21 – 522, 526, 532 & 534 E. Elizabeth Avenue – Grunwald Properties, and hear two Applications, namely, SP-1143-21 –800 W. Edgar Road – Linden Development LLC and SP 1146-21 Linden Station Apartments – Accurate Builders. The Board will also hear Redevelopment Plan on Block Block 159, Lots 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 (Roselle Street). Copies of the filed Plans submitted by the Applicant can be reviewed on the City website here. Copies of any exhibits that will be utilized by the Applicant at the hearing will also be made available at the aforementioned link at least two (2) days prior to the hearing.

Utility Assistance Programs

Utility companies will resume shut off of service for nonpayment after December 31, 2021. Don’t delay, apply for energy assistance today!

Holiday House Decorating Contest

Let’s light up Linden with Holiday spirit! Mayor Derek Armstead, The City of Linden and The Linden Cultural & Heritage Committee present the Holiday House Decorating Contest!

All homes in Linden that have their holiday lights on from December 12th to December 20th will be judged. No registration required. Winners to be announced December 28th. Winning homes will be on the City of Linden website and pictures will be shared on Linden’s Facebook and Nextdoor pages. Gift cards will be mailed to the winning homes. Homes that have won in the past two years will not be eligible.

Winter Recreation Registration

Registration has begun for the City of Linden Department of Parks & Recreation winter season. The department offers a variety of classes for youth, adults and senior citizens, in such areas as soccer, wrestling, karate, art, ceramics, arts & crafts, line dancing, Zumba, knitting, complete fitness and more.

  • To register in-person, visit the Parks & Recreation office in the John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street. You may also register by going to the Linden Multi-Purpose Center at 1025 John Street.

City of Linden 2021 Tree Lighting

Mayor Derek Armstead and the Cultural & Heritage Committee invite the City of Linden to attend the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting. Enjoy live entertainment, holiday music, refreshments and meet Santa! Starts at 6pm at Linden City Hall. After the tree lighting, Linden families are invited to the Promenade to take pictures with Santa and enjoy refreshments.
