Senior Zumba Gold

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Senior Zumba Gold.

  • Who: For Linden senior residents. Participants should consult with a physician prior to participation.
  • What: Perfect for active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba class that recreates the original moves you love at a lower intensity, with easy-to-follow Zumba choreography. The main focus is on balance, range of motion and coordination.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • When: Fridays, April 5 through June 21, 2024 from 9:30am until 10:30am.
    • No class on April 12 and May 10, 2024.
  • How: Free program. Participants should consult with a physician prior to participation. To view full program description and register online, click here. Senior Citizen Line Dancing

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Senior Citizen Line Dancing.

  • Who: For Linden senior residents.
  • What: Senior line dancing classes. Line dancing for seniors is a fun, healthy and rewarding activity and exercise. Dancing styles incorporated into the class include salsa, ballroom and country western.
  • When: Thursdays, April 11 through June 27, 2024, from 10:30am until 11:30am.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.

Robot Makers: Start Making Moves

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Robot Makers: Start Making Moves; a STEM program hosted by Little Ivy Academy.

  • Who: Second through fifth graders.
  • What: Robot Makers: Start Making Moves; a STEM program hosted by Little Ivy Academy. Your child and their lab mates will learn how gears work together, to program a sensor and more! Participants will make motors move and gears whir when they take control of the building and programming of their moving and sensing robots! Utilizing the LEGO Mindstorms robotics system as well as coding language, lab teams will discover some of the basic engineering and programming concepts. Participants will need to turn their own ideas into moving robotic creations!
  • When: Mondays, March 25 through May 6, 2024 from 4pm until 5pm.
  • Where: Linden Multi Purpose Center, which is located at 1025 John Street.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt 2024!

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks and Recreation invite you to attend the 2024 Annual Easter Egg Hunt! Look for the Easter Bunny, he’ll be hopping around, visiting all sections of Linden after the Egg Hunt! Click here to view the Easter Bunny Route.

  • Who: For children ages 12 and under.
  • What: Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Look for the Easter Bunny, he’ll be hopping around, visiting all sections of Linden after the Egg Hunt!
  • When: Saturday, March 30, 2024. Check-in at 11am, event time is from 12pm until 2pm.
  • Where: Wilson Park, which is located at 1100 Summit Terrace (behind the High School Academy).

Complete Fitness Program

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Complete Fitness.

  • Who: Open to all adults 18+ years of age.
  • What: Six week fitness program. Complete Fitness will develop and reinforce healthy lifestyles and behaviors. The Complete Fitness classes will allow participants to engage in a variety of physical fitness activities that will help to establish lifelong fitness goals.
  • Where: Linden Multi Purpose Center, which is located at 1025 John Street.
  • When: The Complete Fitness program begins on Thursday, April 11, 2024. The program will be held weekly on Thursdays for six weeks from 6pm until 7pm.
  • How: Program fee is $50, plus a $6 annual insurance fee. First time registrants must set up and account and pay an annual $6 registration fee. Register online here, or register in person at the John T. Gregorio Center (330 Helen Street) from 9am until 4pm, or at the Linden Multi Purpose Center (1025 John Street) from 9am until 7pm. 2024 Spring Soccer League

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to announce the 2024 Spring Soccer League. Register early to secure a spot on a team!

  • Who: Open to all children ages 6 through 12.
  • What: Outdoor soccer. All participants must have their own shin guards.
  • Where: Wheeler Park Turf Field, which is located at 234 West Stimpson Avenue. The League will be held on the Soccer Field, entrance on West Stimpson Avenue.
  • When: The League begins on Saturday, April 13, 2024.
  • How: Registration deadline is April 3, 2024. After deadline, all registrants must register by calling 908-474-8600, and a waiting list will be established. Registration fee is $50 for residents, and $60 for non-residents. A one-time annual $6 insurance fee will be added to your total registration fee, per child, if this has not already been paid for with another program. All participants must have their own shin guards. Register online here, or register in person at the John T. Gregorio Center (330 Helen Street) from 9am until 4pm, or at the Linden Multi Purpose Center (1025 John Street) from 9:30am until 7pm. All locations accept checks, money orders, Visa and Mastercard.   • What: Outdoor soccer. All participants must have their own shin guards.
  • Where: Instructional Clinic will be held at Wheeler Park, which is located at 234 West Stimpson Avenue. Clinic located on the Soccer Field, entrance on West Stimpson Avenue.
  • When: The Little Kickers Clinic begins on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 9am. Clinic will run for eight (8) Saturdays: April 13, 20, 27, May 4, 11, 18, 25 and June 1.
  • How: Registration deadline is April 3, 2024. After deadline, all registrants must register by calling 908-474-8600, and a waiting list will be established. Registration fee is $50 for residents, and $60 for non-residents.
