Senior Zumba Gold

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Senior Zumba Gold.

  • Who: For Linden Senior Residents. Participants should consult with a physician prior to participation.
  • What: Perfect for active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba class. This program recreates the original moves you love at a lower-intensity, easy-to-follow pace. The main focus is on balance, range of motion, and coordination.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • When: Fridays, September 12 through December 19 from 9:30am until 10:30am.
    • No Class: October 24 and November 28.
  • How: Free program. Participants should consult with a physician prior to participation. To view full program description and register online, click here. Youth Arts & Crafts

  • Who: Ages 6 and up.
  • What: Youth Arts and Crafts. Have your child enjoy a free art-filled program! Each session will be focused on unique and enjoyable crafts. Let their creativity blossom.
  • Where: Linden Multi-Purpose Center, which is located at 1025 John Street.
  • When: September through December from 3:30pm until 5pm.
    • September 18
    • October 2 and 16.
    • November 6 and 20.
    • December 18.

Senior Citizen Water Aerobics

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Senior Citizen Water Aerobics.

  • Who: For Linden Senior Residents.
  • What: Seniors will enjoy the benefit of low-impact water aerobics led by a certified instructor. Swimwear is required, and swim caps are recommended.
  • Where: Rahway YMCA, which is located at 1564 Irving Street, Rahway, NJ 07065. Transportation will be provided, drop off and pick up will be from the John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street. The bus will be leaving promptly at 8:30am.
  • When: Tuesdays, September 9 through October 28, from 9am until 10am.
  • How: Fee $10 (+ $6 insurance fee). To register please call 908-474-8600.

Senior Chair Yoga

  • What: Senior Chair Yoga. This program is designed to help loosen stiff joints and muscles, increasing flexibility and making daily activities easier. In addition, you will be strengthening your core muscles to be able to improve your balance and stability, reducing the risk of falls.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • When: Thursdays, September 4 through October 30, from 9am until 10am.
  • How: Program for Linden Senior Residents. The fee for this program will be $9 (mats will be provided). Non-members must register and pay the $6 insurance fee. State Planning Commission: Notice of Public Hearings

Please take notice, the State Planning Commission shall conduct six public hearings for the purpose of receiving testimony on the draft Final New Jersey’s State Development and Redevelopment Plan and the draft Infrastructure Needs Assessment pursuant to the State Planning Act at N.J.S.A. 52:18A-202(c) as set forth in the State Planning Rules at N.J.A.C. 15:30-5.2.
