Girls Open Gym

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer Girls Open Gym, Linden Tiger Cub youth organization.

  • Who: All girls, grades 6 through 8, who plan to tryout for their school team.
  • What: Girls Open Gym. Get ready for the 2026 basketball season! Come out and play some pickup basketball to sharpen your skills before tryouts!
  • When/Where: Monday, November 10, 2025 from 6:30pm until 8:30pm at McManus Middle School, which is located at 300 Edgewood Road (enter through gym door 16 of Edgewood Road and Dewitt Terrace).
    • Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 6:30pm until 8:30pm at Soehl Middle School, which is located at 300 East Henry Street (enter through doors by orange rock).

  • What: Pumpkin Painting Pizza Party. Children will receive a pumpkin to paint and pizza to eat.
  • When: Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 11am until 1pm.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center (JTG), which is located at 330 Helen Street.

Notice RE Special Meeting at the Linden Roselle Sewerage Authority

The Members of the Linden Roselle Sewerage Authority will meet on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 10 AM at its Administrative Offices, 5005 South Wood Avenue, Linden, New Jersey.

The agenda of the meeting is to award a bid for the following contract: Flood Mitigation Improvements (Rebid) to Hall Construction Co. Inc., of Farmingdale, New Jersey, for the low bid amount of $2,189,000, all of which is allowable for funding through the NJWB and any other matters that may come before Board Members.

  • The Linden Roselle Sewerage Authority is seeking a qualified candidate for the full-time position of Laboratory Technician position at major wastewater treatment facility in Linden, NJ. Laboratory is NJDEP certified to analyze 25+ parameters. Position will entail analyzing wastewater and sludge samples according to standard operating procedures. Required to operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment, troubleshooting, calibration checks, sample preservation and chemical reagents preparation. Perform and report calculated sample results and complete data entry. The salary range is from $60,958 – 76,690 based on qualifications and experience. Preference given to residents of the City of Linden and Borough of Roselle. Qualifications: A.S. in Chem., Bio. or Env. Science, with 3 yrs. exp. in a wastewater laboratory or B.S. Degree in Chem., Bio. or Env. Science with 1 yr. exp. in a wastewater laboratory.

If not for the countless gallons of donated blood that kept him valiantly battling cancer, we wouldn’t have been able to create those extra memories that final year.   • What: New York Knicks vs Utah Jazz Basketball game.
  • Where: Madison Square Garden, located on 4 Pennsylvania Plaza, New York, NY 10001.
    • Transportation will not be provided for this trip.
  • When: December 5, 2025, the game with be at 7:30pm.
  • How: Tickets will be sold to families who are interested in attending the game. Limited spots available. Registration deadline is October 31, 2025. 2025 Fall Little Kickers Clinic

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to announce the 2025 Fall Little Kickers Clinic. Register early to secure a spot!

  • Who: Open to all children ages 4 and 5.
  • What: Outdoor soccer. All participants must have their own shin guards.
  • Where: Instructional Clinic will be held at Wheeler Park, which is located at 234 West Stimpson Avenue. Clinic located on the Soccer Field, entrance on West Stimpson Avenue.
  • When: The Little Kickers Clinic begins on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 9am. Clinic will run for eight (8) Saturdays: October 4, 11, 18, 25, November 1, 8, 15.
  • How: Registration deadline is September 19, 2025. After deadline, all registrants must register by calling 908-474-8600 or 908-474-8627, and a waiting list will be established. Registration fee is $50 for residents, and $60 for non-residents. A one-time annual $6 insurance fee will be added to your total registration fee, per child, if this has not already been paid for with another program. All participants must have their own shin guards. Register online here, or register in person at the John T. Gregorio Center (330 Helen Street) from 9am until 4pm, or at the Linden Multi Purpose Center (1025 John Street) from 9:30am until 7pm. No refunds once the Clinic begins.
