May 5th, 2022 Shade Tree Commission Meeting Notice

The City of Linden, Shade Tree Commission meeting has been scheduled for 7pm. The Meeting will be conducted virtually. Official action may be taken and portions of the meeting may be held in executive session. 

The link to join the meeting, the phone number to dial into the meeting and the link to all meeting documents, including a PDF of this notice are available once meeting details are finalized.

Members of the public who may be attending are on mute until the public hearing or during the public comment portion of the meeting. If you wish to be recognized please use the raised hand icon, in the program, to identify yourself. You will then give your name and address. Failure to do so, will result in you being muted, and not recognized further.

Members of the public can submit questions or comments in writing no later than 2pm on both meeting days here or by fax at (908) 474-8451. Please include your name and address in the correspondence and the subject of  the email should be “public meeting comment or question”.

May 2nd, 2022 Zoning Board of Adjustment Meeting Notice

The City of Linden, Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 2nd, 2022 at 7pm. The meeting will be conducted in person. Official action will be taken and portions of the meeting may be held in executive session.

The Zoning Board Agenda and all other relevant documents, including this notice are posted on the City of Linden website here. The meetings of the Linden Zoning Board of Adjustment were called pursuant to the provisions of the Open Public Meetings Law. Notice of this meeting are being sent via email to The Star Ledger, the Home News Tribune, and Union County Local Source on Saturday, April 30, 2022. In addition, copies of this notice are posted on the bulletin board and the main entrance to the City Hall.

Linden Public Schools Career Fair

Join our dedicated team of educators and support personnel for the 2022-2023 school year.

  • Who: Job openings anticipated for teachers, Special Education Teachers, Teachers of Students with Autism or Behavior Disabilities, World Languages Teachers – Italian, Spanish, and Teachers of other subjects, including ESL, Math, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, English, Social Studies, Social Workers, and Substitute teachers. Job openings also for support staff, including Classroom paraprofessionals, Custodians, Security and Hall Monitors, Secretaries, School Nurses and Part-time Aides.
  • What: Linden Public Schools is an urban/suburban school district comprising one high school, an alternative high school, two middle schools, and eight elementary schools with 6,000 students and 1,100 staff members. Rabies Vaccination Clinics

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden and the Linden Health Department are providing free rabies clinics.

*For safety, all dogs must be leashed and all cats must be in carriers*

  • Who: Open to all New Jersey residents. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Health Department reminder notice or ID is required.
  • What: Free rabies vaccinations.
  • When: May 9th, 2022 from 3pm until 5pm, May 11th, 2022 from 3pm until 5pm and May 18th, 2022 from 5pm until 7pm.
  • Where: May 9th at Fire House #3, May 11th at Fire House #2 and May 18th at Fire House #1.
  • Additional Information: New and renewal pet licensing services will also be available.

April is Donate Life Month

The City of Linden in Partnership with the NJ Sharing Network Celebrates Donate Life Month

Over 100,000 people in the United States are currently awaiting organ donation. Of those, four thousand live in New Jersey, twenty of whom live in the City of Linden. On average, twenty people in the United States die each day waiting for an organ that is not donated.

One person’s organ and tissue donation can save up to eight lives, and enhance over seventy-five lives. Please watch the video below for more information, and for how you can take an active role in organ donation.
