Strong Winds, Heavy Rain and Flooding Alert

A strong nor’easter will impact our area beginning later today and continuing through the weekend. While the greatest impacts are expected along the shore, Linden may experience prolonged rainfall, strong winds, and potential tidal flooding. While torrential rainfall is not currently forecast for our area, the City’s Department of Public Works has taken precautionary measures in recent weeks, including:

  • Inspecting and clearing catch basins in flood-prone areas
  • Inspecting storm drains and creeks and clearing significant blockages

Some uncertainty remains regarding the storm’s track, but damaging winds are currently the greatest concern for our area, with gusts potentially reaching 60 mph.

The City continues to monitor the storm, and DPW crews will be available to respond to storm-related issues.
