Opening of Wait List for State Rental Assistance Program

Governor Murphy’s Administration announces opening of wait list for State Rental Assistance Program

The open enrollment period for pre-applications is from Monday, July 11, 2022 at 9am until Friday, July 22, 2022 at 5pm. Click here to view and/or download more details regarding the State Rental Assistance Program.

The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) announced that its Division of Housing and Community Resources (DHCR) will be accepting pre-applications online for the State Rental Assistance Program (SRAP) Waiting List. Pre-Applications will be accepted to enter a lottery for the statewide SRAP program in the Elderly, Family, Disabled, and Homeless categories.

“High School Musical” at Linden High School

Mayor Derek Armstead and Mystic Vision Players present “High School Musical” on stage! Music adapted, arranged and produced by Bryan Louiselle.

  • Who: Mystic Vision Players.
  • What: Performance of “High School Musical.” Based on the Disney channel original movie written by Peter Barsocchini.
  • Where: Susan L. Hudak Auditorium at Linden High School, which is located at 121 West St. Georges Avenue.
  • When: July 22nd, 23rd, 28th, 29th and 30th at 8pm. The July 24th performance is scheduled for 3pm.
  • How: To purchase tickets, click here. Admission for adults is $18, and for students and seniors is $15.

Free Car Wash – A Huge Success!

On June 15th, 2022, the Department of Parks & Recreation got together to give back in a special way; a free car wash! For two hours on a Wednesday afternoon, lines of people from the Linden community received free car washes, all the while listening to classic car wash tunes and interacting with the staff. What a way to kick off a summer, full of planned exciting events!

On June 15th, the Department of Parks & Recreation got together to give back in a special way; a free car wash! For two hours on a Wednesday afternoon, lines of people from the Linden community received free car washes, all the while listening to classic car wash tunes and interacting with the staff. What a way to kick off a summer, full of planned exciting events!

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden and the Linden Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to present Movie Night at Al Kalla Park.

  • What: Movie screenings: June 24th (rain date: July 1st) – Spiderman: No Way Home, July 8th (rain date: July 15th) – Encanto, July 22nd (rain date: July 29th) – Sonic the Hedgehod 1, August 5th (rain date: August 12th) – Finding Dory, August 19th (rain date: August 26th) – Soul, and September 2nd (rain date: September 9th) – Secret Life of Pets 2.
  • Where: Al Kalla Park, which is located at 2800 Wickersham Avenue.
  • When: 9pm on June 24th, July 8th, July 22nd, August 5th, August 19th and September 2nd.

2022 Arbor Day Celebration

Arbor Day 2022

School Five celebrated Arbor Day on June 10, 2022. A Linden tree as well as a Dogwood tree were planted in front of the school on Bower Street, and a Tree City USA flag was raised. The children read a poem called “The Gift of the Tree”, and sang “The Trees are Growing Tall”.
