Public Hearing Announcement – Park Development Application

PURPOSE: The City of Linden is seeking funding through the State of NJ Green Acres Program for improvements at Dorothy Curry Ford Park located at 230 Chandler Avenue, Linden NJ and St. Marks Street and East Elizabeth Avenue intersection in The City of Linden.

PROJECT SCOPE: The City of Linden proposes to create the following new facilities at St. Mark’s Park; and/or to renovate the following facilities: Dorothy Curry Ford Park and/or to remove the following facilities: Dorothy Curry Ford Park. A concept plan showing the proposed changes, a preliminary cost estimate, and an environmental impact assessment for the project can be found here.

PUBLIC HEARING INFORMATION: The public is encouraged to attend a public hearing to learn more about the proposal and to ask questions or provide comments on the proposed plan on January 21st, 2025 during the regularly scheduled 7:00 p.m. council meeting. The meeting will be held in person as part of the regularly scheduled Council meeting. Purpose: The City of Linden is seeking funding through the State of NJ Green Acres Program for improvements at George L. Milkosky Park located at 2100 Bedle Pl. near the Bedle Place and McCandless Pl. Intersection in Linden, New Jersey.

Project Scope: The City of Linden proposes to create the following new facilities at George L. Milkosky Park: a State-of-the-art, all-access, and all-inclusive playground. A concept plan showing the proposed changes, a preliminary cost estimate, and an environmental impact assessment for the project can be found clicking here.

Purpose: The City of Linden is seeking funding through the State of NJ Green Acres Program for improvements at Wilson Park Pond at Wilson Park, located at 1100-1198 Summit Terrace near the Summit Terrace and Morningside Ave Intersection in Linden, New Jersey.

Project Scope: The City of Linden proposes improvements at Wilson Park Pond at Wilson Park: Wilson Park Pond Dredging and Aeration. A concept plan showing the proposed changes, a preliminary cost estimate, and an environmental impact assessment for the project can be found by clicking here.

All homes in Linden that had their holiday lights on from December 12 to December 20 were judged. No registration was required. Winners announced on December 28, 2024. Winning homes will be on the City of Linden website, and pictures will be shared on Linden’s Facebook and Nextdoor pages. Gift cards will be delivered to the winning homes. Homes that have won in the past two years were not be eligible.

Temporary Drone Flight Restrictions in Effect in Linden

The FAA has issued new drone flight restrictions additional New Jersey towns due to recent unexplained drone sightings that have raised security concerns. The restrictions, which include sections of Linden, NJ aim to protect critical infrastructure. Below are links to see which parts of Linden have this temporary restriction in effect.

  • Linden – FAA drone flight restriction in effect from December 30, 2024 – January 18, 2025.
  • Linden – FAA drone flight restriction in effect from December 25, 2024 – January 19, 2025.

Deadline Extension – Rental Housing Registration Program

  • Due to technical difficulties that have caused delays in the ability of Linden residents to register for the Rental Housing Registration Program, the deadline to register has been extended from January 31, 2025 to February 28, 2025.
