Passing of Former Council President Myles J. Hergert

Former Linden Council President Myles J. Hergert, 92, of Forked River, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, surrounded by his family.  He was born on July 1, 1933, in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Louis and Emilie (Rapasky) Hergert.  Myles – affectionately known as “Mickey” in his youth – was a man whose life was defined by an unwavering commitment to faith, family, and hard work.
