Smartphone Training Workshop

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer a Smartphone Training Workshop. This program is made possible in part by a 2024 HEART (History, Education, Arts Reaching Thousands) Grant from the Union County Board of Commissioners.

  • What: Fit 4 Life; a program to promote a healthy lifestyle within our senior citizen community. This program includes a focus on warm-ups, balance, strength training and stretching exercises.

    • Fridays: September 6, 13, 20 and 27, from 8:15am until 9:15am.
    • Mondays: October 7, 21, 28 and November 4, 18 and 25, from 9am until 10am.
      • No class: October 14 and November 11.

Public Notice for the Request for Qualifications for Affordable Housing Planning and Administrative Agent Services

Public Notice for the Request for Qualifications of Professional Service Contracts beginning July 1, 2024. Notice is hereby given that in accordance with N.J.S.A. 19:44-20.5 et seq. through a fair and open process, the City of Linden is requesting sealed submissions for Professional Service Contracts. Sealed submissions will be received by the Purchasing Agent, Jessica L. Slawinski, of the City of Linden, on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. prevailing time, in the 1st Floor Purchasing Department, City Hall, City of Linden, 301 North Wood Avenue, Linden, NJ 07036 then publicly opened and read aloud for the following:

  1. Affordable Housing Planning and Administrative Agent Services.

Proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS, for (Position Number as Listed Above, Name of Position) and bearing the name and address of the proposer on outside; addressed to the Purchasing Agent, Jessica L. Slawinski, City of Linden, City Hall, Purchasing Department, 301 North Wood Avenue, 1st Floor, Linden, NJ 07036.

In addition to full compliance with N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.4 et. seq. (“Pay To Play”), individuals or firms awarded contracts under these procedures will be required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 52:32-44 (Business Registration of Public Contractors), 42 U.S.C. Section 12101 et. seq. (Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990), N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. And N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq. (Contract Compliance and Equal Employment Opportunities in Public Contracts)

Any RFQ Addenda will be issued on the website and processed in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A11-23(c)(1).  All interested respondents should check the website from now through RFQ opening. It is the sole responsibility of the respondent to be knowledgeable of all addenda related to this procurement.   

Submission by Corporations and Partnerships shall include a completed Disclosure of Ownership form (N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2) and shall include a completed Non-Collusion Affidavit.

The City of Linden reserves the right to reject any or all submissions due to any defects of waive informalities and accept any submissions that in their judgment will be in the best interest of the City of Linden. The City of Linden shall award the contract or reject all submissions no later than 60 days from receipt of the same.

Ground Space for Cell Site Platform at 320 West St. Georges Ave. Sealed bids will be received, opened and read in public for consideration by the Purchasing Agent of the City of Linden, at the City Hall, 301 North Wood Avenue, 3rd Floor, Planning Board Room, Linden, New Jersey 07036 on Thursday, July 25th, 2024, 9:30am prevailing time.

All bids shall be presented to the City of Linden by parties bidding or their agents previous to the time designated, or when called for by the City of Linden.

Bidders who elect to utilize public or private mailing for delivery of bid assume the burden of correctly addressing the envelope.

The guaranty accompanying the bid proposal shall be given in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the maximum delivered price, but not to exceed twenty thousand dollars ($20,000), and may be given at the option of the bidder by a certified check or a bid bond from a reputable insurance company licensed in the State of New Jersey.

Bidders shall comply with the Affirmative Action Requirements of NJSA 10:5-31 et seq (P.L. 1975, C. 127); (N.J.A.C. 17:27), as amended from time to time, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and N.J.S.A. 52:25-24-2 P.L. 1977, Chapter 33.

Shade Tree Permits

In accordance with the City of Linden Ordinance No. 68-22 prior to the removal of any tree either dead or alive, with limited exceptions, a permit must be obtained from the City of Linden Division of Engineering Office for each tree which is to be removed. No more than three (3) healthy trees shall be permitted for removal on any property per calendar year.
