Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer a self-defense class hosted by the Linden Police Department. The self-defense community event taught by certified instructors will provide our residents the opportunity to learn essential standing and ground skills to stay safe and confident.

- Who: Ages 18 and up.
- What: The Linden Police Department will be hosting a self-defense community event. This class is open to all adults, including seniors, who want to learn practical skills to feel safer and confident. Participants should be able to engage in light physical activity, such as standing or basic movements, to fully benefit from the class. Seniors with more advanced mobility challenges are warmly invited to join as spectators.
- Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
- When: Thursday, October 8, 2026 from 5pm until 7:30pm.
